Juventus looked rusty, but ran out comfortable 5-0 winners over Serie C2 side Mezzocorona in their first pre-season friendly.
Playing in front of 5,000 expectant fans in Val Rendena, the Bianconeri struggled to click in the first period despite Jean-Alain Boumsong opening the scoring with a header from a corner within the first 120 seconds.
Juve boss Claudio Ranieri opted to field a completely different side after the interval and the introduction of Tiago Mendes and Sergio Alimiron especially seemed to bring his men to life.
David Trezeguet doubled the lead with practically his first touch of the ball, latching on to a Hasan Salihamidzic pass, and the summer signing from Bayern Munich turned predator to make it three a few minutes later.
Raffaele Palladino found the net with seven minutes remaning and Marco Marchionni added a last-gasp fifth that was prehaps unfair to the Trentino minnows.
The Old Lady’s next outing is on Sunday against China’s Olympic side who were beaten 3-0 by Inter on Tuesday.
