so why arn't we called Yuventus :p
There's no "Y" in Italian either. The closest thing using traditional Italian alphabet would probably be something like "iuventus". You can see this for example with gianduiotto/giandujotto (as in, the Torinese chocolate).

I could also confuse you more by saying that the Piemontese language DOES have "J" in it, but...
