Not sure there really is a point in posting this thread since we're going to get slaughtered but I figured the Bleus fans might enjoy it :D

Wednesday 31 March 2004 at 20.45h CET (that's 7.45PM GMT) in stadium De Kuip in Rotterdam.

Here are the squads:

HOLLAND
Goal: Edwin van der Sar (Fulham), Ronald Waterreus (PSV Eindhoven)

Defence: Johnny Heitinga (Ajax Amsterdam), Nigel de Jong (Ajax Amsterdam), Mario Melchiot (Chelsea London), Michael Reiziger (Barcelona), Boudewijn Zenden (Middlesborough)

Midfield: Mark van Bommel (PSV Eindhoven), Paul Bosvelt (Manchester City), Philip Cocu (Barcelona), Edgar Davids (Barcelona), Andy van der Meyde (Inter Milan), Marc Overmars (Barcelona), Wesley Sneijder (Ajax Amsterdam), Rafael van der Vaart (Ajax Amsterdam)

Attack: Pierre van Hooijdonk (Fenerbahçe), Roy Makaay (Bayern München)

FRANCE
Goal: Fabien Barthez (Olympique Marseille), Grégory Coupet (Olympique Lyon)

Defense: Marcel Desailly (Chelsea London), William Gallas (Chelsea London), Mikael Silvestre (Manchester United), Lilian Thuram (Juventus), Bixente Lizarazu (Bayern München), Willy Sagnol (Bayern München), Jean-Alain Boumsong (AJ Auxerre)

Midfield: Olivier Dacourt (AS Roma), Sidney Govou (Olympique Lyon), Claude Makélélé (Chelsea London), Ludovic Giuly (AS Monaco), Johan Micoud (Werder Bremen), Benôit Pedretti (Sochaux)

Attack: Thierry Henry (Arsenal London), David Trezeguet (Juventus), Steve Marlet (Olympique Marseille), Pegguy Luyindula (Olympique Lyon)

IMPORTANT FACTS:
This is the first round of friendlies after FIFA decided no more than 5 substitutes per team in such fixtures could take place.

On the Dutch side, Patrick Kluivert and Jimmy-Floyd Hasselbaink were left out, Mario Melchiot and Paul Bosvelt have been brought back by coach Advocaat.

On the French side, Nicholas Anelka has been left out.

--------------------------------------

Predictions anyone? I reckon it will finish 1-3 in favour of the French, and that's assuming Thierry Henry will be substituted early on to give France's other forwards a chance.

He apologised and everything, his coach said he was considering bringing him back. So that makes it sort-of-news don't it? :D

    Wow, you're a psychic!?

I'll give you odds of 50000:1 if those exact minutes and scorers are correct
