He is listed as first team player in Juve site, and in the official presentation and greeting for our team in pinzolo (if you seen the video), Ekdal was called up together with all of our first team player.

Its quite official based on that, he was with the first squad in same get up as them and being called up, while the whole primavera group was standing aside and clapping. They have made it a point clarify where he is counted for.
