He looks a bit too calm to me. But he's young and will improve. His decision making can at times be very poor as well as his positioning. The later once could be because of his position though. One thing I do like so far is his first touch. His technique isn't good but that doesn't matter as long as he plays CB but his first touch is rather good for a CB at his age who players more like a destroyer than a Nesta or whoever, IMO.
I didn't notice any real wrong decision by his part tbh. His positioning is rather weird and messed up, but so his Chiellini's at LB. We're yet to watch this guy in his natural position on a regular basis. The technique is more than fine for a CB.

Well, hopefully Conte doesn't already have his mind made up on what the backline will be on Sunday. Sorensen has about 5 days to prove himself to start:)

I think this would be a great chance for Sorensen to show his abilities if Chiellini stays at LB.

It's up to conte. Tough decision though:)

The logical choice is Chiellini back in the center and DC out wide.
Thats not logical unless you are using the FM stats for De ceglie to make the decision, rather than the real de ceglie, who has been given chance after chance after chance these last few seasons, and aside from a month last season, when he was competent, as a left back he has been regularly atrocious. Zero positonal awareness, seemingly no natural defensive talent, even his passing is merely OK. His only strength seems to be Pace.

Look at Sorensen, thrust in at the deep end last season, did absolutely brilliantly for such a young player, in a new country, at a new club, playing out of position.

Its just a shame that Conte used him as a right back in the coppa, which i hope doesn't mean that Conte sees him as solely or mainly a right back. The lad is obviously built for the centre of defence.

A defence of Chiellini Sorensen Barzagli Lichsteiner would be wicked to see. De ceglie, even when selected as a left back, spends most the game hovering between left midfield and left attack, always leaving huge gaps behind him for the opposition to exploit. A decent athelete, but not a decent footballer.

Give the viking a chance. He deserves it...
