To be fair, although it became a mystery how he didn't play ahead of Motta at the end (probable some 'experience' or 'offensive' tactical idea in his mind), one thing you can say about Delneri is that he will give games to young players over a season. Sorensen made 13 starts, 17 overall (he didn't come in until November) he has had a very good early career where he is signficantly ahead of his peers.

It's also pretty normal for coaches to stay with experienced players when things get tough, not just in Italy. Whether you agree we that is opinion, but I doubt many would see how Motta started ahead of him towards the end, especially with those ridiculous half time subs.

Towards the end though it was fairly evident that we will not take up the option to buy the goat and there was no point in playing a forever out of form motta who would leave at the end of the season. Rather play a young player who shows a lot of potential and has a long term contract with you. I would hate to see him sent on loan to some small team to get some experience.

This really says a lot about the coaches we have had the last couple seasons. Their ongoing trust in players like Motta/Amauri, etc...for long periods of time they did nothing for this team yet had more playing time than younger less experienced players that couldn't have offered any less.

But statistically he played better when he was given the time, just like he did when he had to sub the worthless Motta off the field. It makes no sense, and "hypothetically" saying he could have fucked up as much as them is just as nonsensical. He could have also scored a hat trick each time...we have no way of knowing.

But Sørensen and Agger are more talented if you measure it in raw talent and potential.

And Kjær has kinda been in a drastic decline after his Wolfsburg move.
Either he peaked to early or we already have seen the best of him.

In no way i'm trolling but i'm really interested in what way can you precisely measure raw talent?

Natural adaption to the game. A talented player learns faster under non-ideal circumstances. Sørensen was played out of position, but he still looked more comfortable with his role than many natural RB's.

Kjær on the other hand always plays in the same position, but repeatedly makes the same errors.

So in this case i measure raw talent by watching how fast a person improves his weak aspects of the game, rather than improving the things he already is good at.

Did that make some "non-trolling" sense?
