i watch german football regularly and i agree with all of you who say he is the perfect nedved replacement. don't forget, though, that bayern is a club with hard headed managers, they will never let ribery leave in the summer. they simply don't need the money. what they need is his class, as they know they have no chance of getting another player with his abilities in the next years.

diego can be a more useful player than ribery, he has a different position, but he can be as dominant on the pitch as the frenchman. there are two things that would make ribery better for us. first, he is more consistent, his only focus is to win and this is exactly what we need. secondly, as you rightly stated, we wouldn't have to change formation as he can very well be compared with nedved, whom he would have to replace. on a good day, there is, in my opinion, hardly any player to be seen who is as outstanding and dominant as diego. he has the ability to do whatever he wants. on a bad day, you will sometimes see him disappear though, and this is what happened quite often this season, although werder are still very dependent on him.

it's a though question, but i'm convinced we will never see ribery in our beloved black n white jersey.

Why would he leave Bayern? His already having a idol status in BM by the fans.
Only high wages could tempt him out of Bayern in the summer. And by high wages i mean double of what he's earning now ( I read in Bild that he's getting 4.8m eur. Dunno if it's true). In other words, only Manchester City stands a chance and even that is debatable because Ribery strikes me as someone who accepts only a win and nothing else, and i doubt he'd like to go to City.

Bayern will not sell unless we pay some crazy money (that we don't have) and Ribery won't join us unless we pay him some crazy wages (that we also don't have the money for).

nice to see you around here again! its been a long time!

I agree with you in every point, as I am also watching a lot of German football. I see Diego as a better fit for us, simply because he is younger and his ability to turn a game with one brillint pass or dribble, makes him an outstanding player. Also, a formation shift is not a big problem, as I am sure, that Diego would get along with Camoranesi

If we are going to splash 26m on Diego, why the heck wouldn't we just spend the extra to get ribery instead? It makes more sense if Ranieri stays then he wont be forced to change the system. Ribery makes perfect sense except for the fact we would be drained financially in the mercato(summer and winter) should we get him.

If its true that there is a "split" between player and club then we should make a serious effort! I would love this guy at Juventus.

Alen brings up a good point...he would have to settle for a much less far-fetched wage than barcelona/reeaaall would offer him. I couldn't see him going to Real though as they are too inconsistent, Barca would make more sense (considering his will to win) now that they are steam rolling everyone. Maybe Zizou could offer him some friendly "advice"!

I think I saw an article on L'Équipe about it but they never mentioned Juve. Then I saw Corriere or another Italian site reporting L'Équipe as the source but they Juve.

Dream On , Burke wont let him go , BOOOOOOO
its not going to happen....
These are the most realistic opinions.

We said he was valued at 50 ME, and his contract situation isn't complicated, he's on until 2011, and he said he wouldn't resign unless we bring in big names, which he said included Bodmer and Toulalan. I think we may go after one in the summer, but until 2011, he's staying put.
