Monaco - Lyon in a few minutes.

Both teams have quite a few notable absences due to injury, add to it that Monaco's team got quite depleted last summer due to the number of key players they sold, this game isn't as strong as it was last season.

Looks like Toulalan is playing at centerback.

Just watched the first half of Lille - Marseille. Batshuayi scored for the latter, but man is Lass Diarra a monster, he's bossing that midfield, spraying passes around and putting in some really crucial tackles. He's been one of the best midfielders in the Ligue this season. Wouldnt be surprised if he went to the Euros.

Kurzawa just scored a very composed goal

He was always a good player, shame he went off to the wilderness for the pay cheque.

How are Angers second, btw?
True about Lass. Still think it was a bad mistake by Arsene to not give him enough opportunities in that season when Flamini played well.

As for Angers, they are one of the most defensive teams ever. They park the bus every game and manage to steal a goal or two against the run of play. :D

For real tho, haven't payed any attention to Ligue 1 this season tbh, but wtf is going on with Caen & Angers being so high?
Jay asked the same question a couple of months ago :D Two reasons:

1. Most of the top teams in France have digressed this year.
2. They are the most negative, defensive teams you will see in Europe :D. They park the bus almost every game, they defend with numbers, and always manage to nick a goal or two against the run of play. Invariably the goals will come from a set piece or a counter attack, I can honestly tell you there isn't a single attacking player out of those teams who you could consider overly impressive this season :p

I think they even played against each other recently and it inevitably ended 0-0, I didn't watch the game or see highlights but I'm almost sure even their fans were bored to death.

They sound like they would absolutely massacre Arsenal.

I don't know why, but I got a weird affection for these kind of teams :D Probably just because everyone else hates them...

Marseille up away to Rennes 1-0 , Remy Cabella scored a goal. What a season Lass Diarra is having, he's been a monster in midfield all season long, even with Marseilles long injury list, and him having to bear with Isla being his midfield partner the past 3 games he's still carrying Marseille's midfield :p
