Apparently the fee is in the region of 22M.

I miss Juninho in Lyon, but i still get to watch him every now and then in the Qatari league. He plays for the league champions mind you.
Juninho :touched:

He was/is the best free kick taker in the world for me.

How's he doing there?

How did you end up at a Juve forum if you're a Arsenal fan and what made you stay?
I really can't remember how i came across the site. That was a long time ago, but i liked the place, the people much more than i did in other forums. I am/was a member in a few Arsenal forums, but i never liked it there, as most people only watch the EPL, maybe a little La Liga. This place has more knowledgable people that are more well rounded in their football knowledge.

Juninho :touched:

How's he doing there?
I think he's just come to this region to bag a last pay cheque, he barely runs or makes an effort, but he's decent enough and he's still deadly on set pieces.

When I first mentioned this transfer today, they were saying it would be around €20m
Because Lyons initial offer was around 10M. I never expected them to go all the up to 22M. But 10M? the nerve on them:D

Aush, this is it.

Ya man, get with the program:p, he even played a few games for them. He was their best player in their last game against Caen, the one that they lost. He really did not deserve to be on the losing side.

and speaking of Caen, watch out for Yosuf El Arabi Aush, i never knew him before this season. But he was absolutely majestic in the first game against L'OM, the skills he did in that game, Alarzboy could make a whole viva futbol volume only from Yosof's skills against Marseille, to top it off, he scored the winning goal in a surprising win in the Velodrome too. Against Lyon he played rather well and scored the first goal too.

Really nice player to watch, alongside Monaco winger loaned to Caen this season, Yoan Mollo. Caen are the team to watch this season, you heard it here first. Two wins against L'OM and Marseille consecutively. Impressive stuff

Doesn't Remy have a heart problem? How could they sign him for these figures while in many previous cases such conditions were prevented from playing football.

Thuram's case comes to mind here, he played on the highest levels for what 10-14 years? Yet when he almost signed for PSG the tests showed his heart had birth faults and that he isn't even supposed to play professional football.

So he has a heart problem but not that serious? And I thought those were always serious especially when playing as an athlete on the highest levels is there too.

Here's to hoping we won't see another Puertta incident in french stadiums this time.

Toulouse bring in Yanis Tafer as a Gignac replacement. The deal is a one year loan with an option to buy at the end of the season. Good signing for Toulouse

Now that Marseille bought in Gignac and Remy, i think they stand a good chance of competing with Lyon. Even if the latter is a lot stronger with Gourcuff now.

One thing that puzzles me is, how are they going to play Pjanic and Gourcuff together? It would be a big shame to play Pjanic out of position or bench him as he was one of Lyons best players last season.

Yo Fred. Can you give me hindsight on how Lyon played last season and what players they have at their disposal now?

Also, i won 2 consecutives world cups in FM, Sakho was captain in the last one

Well they started off the season quite strongly with their new signings Cissoko and Lisandro fitting in almost immediately, Pjanic was played in his preferred attacking midfield position(as opposed to the first season where he was played as a winger), also Bastos was turning in some strong performances on the right wing. Then around November they started having a hard time, and suffered a big loss to Nice where they were completely outplayed and ended up losing the game 4-1, and all their former players Remy, Hellebuyck and Mounier all having great games. Then they had that amazing 5-5 draw with Marseille , anyway they were really poor until the much needed winter break. After the winter break they were again back to their winning ways, but reaching the semi's of the CL kind of had a bad effect on their league form, so at the end of the season they started losing points everywhere, that eventually lost them the league to Marseille.

Loris was a fantastic throughout the season for them, he was the Ligue's best keeper last season imo, he did very well.

Cris was quite inconsistent and rather mistake prone last season. It didn't help Lyon that Boumsong was injured for large chunks of last season while Mensah was out on loan to Sunderland.

At first they played Bodmer as centerback but he turned out to be a disaster there, so they eventually put Toulalan back there, he did relatively well and was actually better in CB than Cris was. I'd say Cris poor form affected Lyon as he has always been a dependable defender for them.

Revelliere was his usual consistenly just above average self, Cissokho on the other side was quite good, other than a few horror games here and there, he had a good season all in all, he was very instrumental in the CL too.

In midfield, Puel rotated and never really had a stable selection there. When Toulalan was played as CB, which happened a lot last season, sometimes Gonalons filled in as DM sometimes Makoun did, the latter was very inconsistent and you could never know what to expect of him. Gonalons on the other hand, impressed whenever given the chance, and showed maturity above his age, he had a good season last year.

Kallstrom was another one that was inconsistent last season, not a very strong player mentally imo. When the team was playing well he was always very good, but when the chips are down, you can always rely on him choking it out. At times he was magical though last season. Pjanic was their best midfielder though, he had a brilliant season last year, i think he was their top assistman, plus he was the midfielder that scored the most goals. He was very instrumental for Lyon last year.

Upfront, Lyon started the season with Gomis in the center, while Lisandro was on the left and Bastos was on the right. Gomis was wasteful and poor most of the time, so eventually Lisandro was put in the center, the right became a rotation between Bastos and Govou and the left was for Cesar Delgado.

Delgado was very good in the second half of last season, he was good in the big games particularly and he made that left hand side his. Lisandro was arguably Lyon's best player closely followed by Pjanic, but i'd give the edge to Lisandro, wherever he was played he was a constant nuisance to defenses, and he always worked extremely hard for his team, all in all he was quite consistent too.

As for the right hand side, it remains forever a mystery how it could be a rotation between the extremely mediocre Govou and Bastos who was most of the time quite decent. Bastos always played better, plus he chipped in with goals, mostly from long range, so he added a different dimension to Lyon's attack, but despite that Puel kept it as a rotation between him and between Govou who offered virtually nothing to be honest.

Sorry for making it too long, but i'm bored and have a lot of time on my hands. Cronios who?

Oh yeah i forgot.

Fred, what do you think about Saivet and Corchia?

Saivet never much of a chance with Blanc, very rarely he gets a few minutes at the end of games. Last season especially he very rarely played. He was quite surprisingly started against Lyon last season, he didn't do very well. But to be honest, i don't think i can pass judgment until i see more of him.

As for Corchia, i don't watch a lot of Le Mans, but from highlights and the few matches i have seen of him, he seems like an attack minded fullback, not so sure about his defensive prowess, but going forward he has always looked quite good to me, rather pacy and always attempts to dribble.

It's ok mate, the more details the better. Remember? ;)

So, you think Pjanic and Yoann could play together in midfield with let's say, Toulalan? or is it too lightweight? Maybe Puel intends on using Pjanic as a winger again now that Govou is gone i would assume.
