Brandao's finishing overall is really bad though, he wastes soooooo many chances
You're right, i am not entirely convinced by him as a striker actually. He is a Boriello type striker, not so good finisher, but strong in holding the ball and could be useful at times.

He played really well today though, making himself a constant nuisance to Lyon's defense.

Bordeaux lost to Lille today. This is going to make the Lyon - Marseille game very interesting today. If Lyon win, they will be the league leaders for the first time this season.

Ligue is really competetive this season, Bordeaux despite being very strong has already lost 3 times this season. Teams like Toulouse, Lille, PSG, Monaco and Auxerre are really strong this year.

I love this league.
Do you watch the Lille - Bordeaux game, Fred? How can Bordeaux lost? Eden Hazard?

About Toulouse, i read that Moussa Sissoko is their top goal scorers for them right now. He seems improved a lot from last season. Actually i really want this guy become Juve's player last season (if we failed to buy Melo or cheaper alternative)

and how can Monaco been there in the top standings. I just know several players from them like Nimani, Nene, and one CB/DM C guy that once interested us last season (forgot the name)

How many of you tuned into this game like me after Inter's game ended? And got the shock of ze ages? :D I watched 20 mins of first half when it was half time in the other game, then tuned in at times (luckily catching Marseille coming back), then fully watching it last 20 mins, thinking 4-2 to Marseille is done...and the rest that came after

10 goals, and I saw 5 of them in the last 11 minutes

About Lille and Bordeaux, no unfortunately i had to miss the game because it was played at the same time as Chelsea - United. But i heard that Gervinho was the main man behind that victory, he completely toyed with Bordeaux's defense for the first goal. In the past few weeks he has been in top form, Gervinho. Also a joy to watch with his mazy dribbles

Moussa Sissoko has developed into a fine Central midfielder, absolutely amazing player. I really rate him highly and believe he will make it big. He has added goals to his game, i believe he has scored 5 goals already for Toulouse. Easily the best midfielder in the Ligue this season.

Monaco will not stay long in that position, they do not have the squad depth to last long. The reason they are so high up the table is that most of their players have hit top form in the first third of the season. Their keeper Ruffier has been brilliant so far, so has Puygrenier the center back, Alonso their right winger and most importantly their best player this season and arguably the best player in the Ligue thus far, Nene. Nene especially has been extremely efficient especially in set pieces, he is the top scorer with 9 goals despite not being a striker.

Actually was watching both games.

That was exaclty my point when such big games should be played in more open minded rather than closing it down to a set pieace goal or something of that sort.

Playing football for the game it self, and collect the points that you will deserve to collect. Play your heart out there.

This wasn't exactly the best game to showcase defending though.:p
Sure thing. But that's just great football. Don't get me wrong though.

Grenoble have only got one point so far this season, how's Sofiane Feghouli playing? Although the answer is rather inevitable..
He hasn't been playing. Been injured a couple of times this season. Don't think he's played many games.

Fred, you like Pablo Correa?

He's a good coach, got Nancy promoted 4 years ago and made them an established team in the Ligue. He almost got them into the CL two seasons ago too.

Bordeaux lost at home to Valenciennes today. Shocking result for Bordeaux, they really looked clueless in attack with Chamakh and Gourcuff not playing.

Lyon didn't really take advantage, as they drew 1-1 to ten man Grenoble. Grenoble have been downright awful this season, this is only their second point. Lyon are losing easy points in the league this season.

Auxerre is now top of Ligue after they beat Monaco.

And I was hoping that we'll be the first ones who'll do it on their turf. :(

Are Gourcuff and Chamakh being rested for Juve?

Chamakh started the game but had to be taken off in the first 20 minutes after he got injured. Gourcuff didn't play today because he got injured in international duty.

Gourcuff won't play against Juve thats for sure. I don't know about the severity of Chamakh's injury though.
