Thought it was a decent race if you take the fight for first out of the equation. There were some good battles but it is never going to be the most exciting when the first place is sealed within 3 laps.

Alonso did incredibly well considering he had 4 pit stops and no DRS.

This 100%

Alonso just missed out on WDC last year with much worse car and bad luck while RB had by far the best car and Vettel had the most luck. And look what Lewis did with the McLarens, he took them far past what they should have been capable of. If everyone had equal car, it would go

1. Alonso
2. Lewis
3. Kimi
4. Vettel
5. Massa
6. Webber
7. Rosberg

God damn, what bad luck for Alonso and Ferrari so far this season.

Kirk Hammett
I really disagree that Lewis is a better driver than Kimi. Lewis is good at setting fast pace laps but over a race he consistently cannot manage his tyres and has had problems with looking in his mirrors.

Hamilton hardly did better than Button last season, and I would not say that he is in the top 3 drivers.

Kimi is an excellent and consistent driver.

For me the best 3 are Alonso, Vettel and Kimi.

Good thing is that I will be going to the next race. I can't wait. :nico:

Kimi-Lewis maybe but Vettel no.

Swap Vettel's and Hamilton's cars last season and let's see where Vettel would end up...

You will love it :D

Make sure you bring ear plugs too. You can go the first few laps without them, it's actually enjoyable for a little while but then it becomes far too loud.

Hehe, yeah, I'll remember to bring ear plugs for sure. :agree:

Spain is not really the best grand prix, but it's still F1. :) And first race in Europe + Alonso will get plenty of support. :D

I don't the problem is that people hate a winner. It's just that Vettel's success has little to do with his ability and more to do with the car he's been afforded. Last year RedBull were miles ahead of the others. There are still loyts of questions over his ability to be competitive if he were'nt in the dominant car on the grid.

No way he would have been able to do what Hamilton was able to do with poor McLaren cars or Alonso last season with a poor Ferrari
Few people could dominate the sport for three consecutive years and not become hated by a section of fans. Vettel was fairly well liked in the first year or so of that period, that changed.

I disagree about his ability, he's often in a completely different race to Webber because he's much better. That has nothing to do with Red Bull favouring either driver, he finished 100 points ahead last season. There are perhaps 2 or 3 drivers that could have turned the Abu Dhabi result around like Vettel did for example, that was a championship winning performance.

The first part of the statement said it all, the reason he's annihilates Webber coming and gowing is because he is better than Webber, but let's be real, Webber is not exactly a good enough yard stick. Abu Dhabi was a one off. He's never shown that kind of performance prior to or since.

he can dominate races because the machinery he has doesn't allow anybody to challenge him. Even with vastly superior machinery he was nearly beaten by Alonso last season to the WDC in a much maligned Ferrari which was a laughing stock at the start of the season. That is the yard stick by which he will be measured.

Good job by Alonso, but if the tyre and gas regulations aren't changed by the start of next season Im done with F1. Im not here to watch how effectively tyres can be managed, I dont want racers to ask if they are allowed to fight for their positions, i dont want to hear hamilton say that he couldnt go any slower if he tried. They are ruining this sport.

Quite right. Although I won't be done with the sport.

Hearing racers say they drive at 80-90% isn't right.

Ferrari need to stop with the stupid little errors. Malaysia and Bahrain have been massive losses.

It was hyperbolic, I'll still follow it - I just won't watch every race live anymore. The guys in the Danish studio said that Hamilton's engine wasn't in prime racing setting from lap 1 ! I miss the days of Bridgestone / Michelin providing the tyres, when teams fueled their own cars after their own agenda and where drivers could really go balls out blazing to win positions. Not this bullshit.

Sorry, I'm ranting :p
