BMW was that good in every pre-season test, they will have a good season
and indeed Hamilton is as good as they made him to be.
I dont know whats wrong with Ferrari though, if Mclaren managed to make a car reliable enough so that both of the drivers could finish the race,
Ferrari should do too,
last year reliability problems cost Scuderia a championship,
i hope they wont repeat the same mistakes...

Renault is a good team and they sure know there job damn well,
but its all about the money in F1, invest more and you might win more,
invest less... and have BMW upon you...

Congratulations to Kimi, he had a good race and bagged the points, he was a favourite and stood up for it. I'm not overly disapointed McLaren showed the car is in good shape and is competitive. Renault was simply too disapointing.

Oh and Hamilton was simply brilliant in his debut, good things are coming McLaren's way. :pint:

Forza Kimi, woke up late i only saw the last two laps. Hope this is Alonso's only podium.
i hope it's not Hamilton's last one! i really want him to have great results throughout the season. it would be GREAT if he beat Massa in the championship.

overall this was a good race. enough of drama and crashing, coupled with a strong race by McLaren and the other top teams too in terms of reliability of the package.

i dont understand how one of biggest and most reliable carmakers toyota and honda can do so poorly in f1. Personally i think toyota has a weak driverpartnership, ralf has lost it totally and trulli seems to run the entire race on autopilot. yes they finished in 8 and 9 but its time to start fighting for top spots.

And honda was poor as well. 2 years ago they looked as if they could compete for both titles, last year was already a setback and this one they look even worse. Looks as if button dont have what it takes to be a champion. (english media hype again?).

Not that i care about either of them, but it i think its time to aim higher.

heck even sato with his super aguri(what runs on honda engines as well) was faster than button with his honda.

i still wonder how Honda are putting up with Button!!! he's been hoplessly underperforming since as long as i can remember!!! it's seriously harming the team, and their fans, if by now they really have any!!! Button should simply quit!!! say Ta-Tah and NEVER return!!!! EVER!!! a new driver may motivate the team also!

and i can say the same for Toyota...though i cant say which driver should go. both are pretty bad as you mentioned!!! for fucks sake, how can ralf consider himslef a TOP 3 driver?!!! i really cant understand!!! if Toyota employ a few rookies, that'd prolly add new life to the team...

though i really cant say if either of them have good race packages...but i'd expected both to have at least top results along with a competitive race! though Toyota managed that somehow...i had expected honda in their place!!!

bottom line: Honda, get rid of Button; Toyota, you know better whom to fire!

I saw it from start to end.

I always cheered for Ferrari and then for a driver... it came up so that all the time I'm watching F1 its Schumi there:)

Anyway Ferrari showed some speed there. Massa with new engine was able to get 6th place from 22nd :) That shows some threat to McLaren... and Kimi... He finally got the car he needs... he got motivetion... so I think it will be La Scuderia Ferrari this year ;)

i hope Kimi learns how to talk with a bit more passion about his racing and show some damn emotion!
Don't count on it, after all that's why they call him Iceman. I guess he'll put up a smile if he wins the championship. Deal with it. :D

damn...got up at 8 am after a tiring Iron Maiden concert. it was good to see Hamilton on the podium, surely this will encourage him a lot more!!! easy race for Kimi, just had to drive fast and get in n out of pits very fast. BMW were surprising. and Renaul were simply terrible. NOWHERE near what they were last year.

mark83, still gonna support Renault?

PS: Fisi really did a great job holding off a faster Ferrari in the last few laps! kudos to him for that. but the rest of his race.....meh!
Are you serious?

Honestly, who cares about the press conference. I think the first round of the F1 WC is pretty much how everyone predicted. Ferrari is the fastest as a result from their strong technological push at the end of last year. McLaren is over-achieving now that they have Alonso and a young superstar in Lewis Hamilton. BMW is fast and un-reliable. Renault is seriously going to miss Alonso. The Japanese teams are still behind the rest despite their budgets. Williams will never be the same as they were back when Schumi used to race them with inferior cars (great years). Red Bull and Toro Rosso are still slow and still employ Coulthard and Webber who combine to make the "bitter loser" lineup in F1. And Spyker will clearly get a guaranteed amount of TV each race due to their drivers spinning, crashing or cars breaking down.

Raikkonen looks like the guy to beat, and I will always root for Ferrari. Raikkonen will win the races and Massa will do all the car development. Massa is a fast driver, but not a skilled racer. This became apparent once again in this first race. PASS HIM HE IS SLOWER THAN YOU BY A MILE! I have a lot of faith in Ferrari. Although, Alonso and McLaren have made leaps and bounds from last season and with more technical development to come, should only improve.

I am really bummed out about the tire situation. I almost find it embarassing that F1 has stooped this low.

Nico Rosberg is once again over-achieving in his slow vehicle. I wonder if he will ever get a good ride. I will be excited to see where Sebastien Vettel lands. I believe that he will be the next superstar in F1.

Anyone care to discuss the reasoning behind the recent increase of young driver in F1. I attribute it to GP2 being a very close racing series. Most F1 drivers say that a Go-Kart is the closest thing to a F1 car, but now I am starting to think that
GP may be a junior formula that is actually meaningful. Could be one theory.

Anyways, I am looking forward to a good season. Forza Ferrari.

Massa will show some speed:)

I guess Best pair is Kimi/Massa (Of course considering the Car performance);

Cant wait for Malaisian Grand Prix:)

And of course no one mentioned that Kimi Achieved (Pole, 1St place, Fastest Lap) I can't recall whats called that combination.

It was a strong performace from him. As a Ferrari fan though, I am a bit skeptical about how he will perform when McLaren starts to step up. In my opinion he made some huge mental mistakes in the 2005 WC and threw away the title. I always thought his nickname was appropriate for other reasons. The ICE man always seems to crack when heat is applied.

He has the speed, talent, and team to win the championship. But, he needs to continue to develop the car throughout the season or McLaren will catch up. Alonso is a workhorse and will do everything it takes to close the gap. Hopefully for Ferrari, Massa keeps up his solid deveopmental work. Malasia will be interesting.

Look at the mute who drives for ferrari! Fukin talk u mute! sorry i hate Mutes but i love Ferrari!

Webber is a good driver and if the stupid petrol gauge didnt screw him up he would have finished in points he proberly has the worsed luck in F1! Kimi seems to still have a couple of gears up he can go with that car! But u cant win the season in the first few races u can only loose them! If Kimi wins this season i think he may say in press conference a little something like this: "Good car very happy thank you Ferrari" said by the bloody mute!

Come on Massa i say!
