Hard luck to Force India though. Adrian Sutil had a good chance to score some points today and Webber's smoke release screwed that up. And may I add, all the new teams will blow monkey balls this season.

The new rule changes are interesting. When cars had to refuel, it was known pretty much what lap they were coming in. With tires only, it's much more flexible - track conditions and driving styles change things around, and teams have to react to unexpected tactical opportunities.

The other interesting sight was how the faster cars started on the faster, softer tires, but the slower teams started on the more durable ones, meaning that come the end of the race, the slower teams were actually as fast as the big teams.

I'm a bit worried by the lack of overtaking in the second half of the race though. I hope the regs don't turn the end of races into a procession.

I don't know if I'm blowing steam here but the Bahrain circuit with the long stretches had something to do with it ?

Long stretches are great for overtaking though. Bahrain does have a few spots where you can't overtake at all though, like that bit they added compared to last year, which is simply stupid and bumpy. Doesn't add a thing.

Not really. As Ken says, it's not a bad track for overtaking. It's just that everyone spread out a bit, I think. I'm not sure - I missed the last 15 laps or so.

Ah now, that's a challenging section for drivers. If it's all straights, the quicker straight-line cars would just win. You might as well just go watch Nascar. And I suspect it was so bumpy mainly because it was new.
