People play games because it's fun, yes? So I do whatever makes it more fun.
yeah but not all games..the beauty of this one is the fact that it's the closest to realism you'll get in football games. oh well, your choice.

First of all, it's not always that realistic, Secondly, I'm not the type to review my tactics for 30 minutes before every game, I play the same exact formation for 5 seasons. The game is all about managing players to me, always has been.

closest to reality right ;)

hey if i know this team would beat some other teams ass in real life i would make sure that that happened even in fm
That's correct and FM is still widely unrealistic at times. It happens far too often that playing an off game against a big club will see you beaten 4-0. That happens basically never in real life. These things have been improved in FM06 though.

yeah it's not always realistic, but it's the closest you'll get with games. i just think this game loses it's meaning if you cheat too much, might as well fire up the editor and tranfser every good player to your club, and give everyone 200 potential ability. it's not a game of skill, like fifa, it's more of a tactical game, where you have to figure some thing out yourself. that's what i like in this game.

That all depends on your perspective. I'm not really into tactics, I like the idea that of buying no name players and giving them a chance to shine, I like buying veterans (or getting them on free transfer) and giving them two more seasons, I like playing a club I know well and having the same exact players as in real life to see who is good and who isn't.

When I start the game and pick a club, I like to choose a formation that suits the players I have at the start. Then I hit the transfer market to complement my squad and fill in the gaps. As the game goes on, I replace certain players, keeping the same formation.

well than you're an cm-type-player, much as like myself, although that don't work anymore in fm series, much has been transfered to tactics and formation. it's not like the days of cm3, buy robbie keane from wolves, put him on amc, and see him pack 40 goals and 30 assists per season and win everything with ease. tactics are far more important now.

#5 regularly, #3 occasionally, #2 because it's fun.
Boo.

I've done #5 once. The game crashed and I lost a couple of games. I was managing some small-timers (div 2), and one of the lost games was a league cup win over a Premiership team. I restarted five times before I got the win again, but it went to extra time, exhausting all my players and costing me the next match. I've never done it since.

I've never even heard of #4, and numbers three to one are just silly.

I want to be able to offer contracts to greyed out players though.:depressed

I don't agree. I think you can get away with anything if you have the players for it. :)

well i'm more and more starting to believe otherwise, in fm2005 it was, more or less, possible but from now on it's getting harder and harder.

i m pretty sure it works for anything
Not if it's stipulated otherwise in the EULA. For instance, Sony's EULA on their CDs that were causing so much trouble recently included the stipulation that if you lost or destroyed your CD, you were required to delete any electronic copies of the music from it. Stupid, unfair and possibly not viable in court, but there nevertheless.

sony. what a mess they have done. but you still technically had the right if you had the cd
I'm not sure. If it doesn't work, is it destroyed? :) Anyway, I doubt SIgames EULA is so stringent, so I suspect you're right.
