after you click on training, and you can either pick 'general', or 'goalkeeper', but how the hell do you start the training?? also, is there a difficulty setting? seems like i'm wooping ass too easily. and oh, how do you change the substitution setting; teams are making like 8 subs a match!

They are friendly matches.

When you go to training under Juventus or whoever, just pull the overall training level up to heavy or SUPER HEAVY like I do, now somone like Gianichedda will be 46 billion dollars, or 2 Euros.

damn, anyone know a good cheap goalkeeper I can have as a backup?
click your name, click player search, click filter, click customize filter, add attributes reflexes at least 15, click handling at least 15. a list of best keepers is generated the best on the top and then descending. choose one that you think you'd be able to get. ;)

at the start of the game de sanctis is always sold, don't know how much he costs and will you able to get him but he's first name that comes to mind.

I hate to say it but I told you so. Weeks ago I said that I heard from a number of reliable sources that the match engine was shit as everything seems easier for the AI and your players don't respond to tactical instructions like they should and the results are unrealistic. Everyone was like, 'nah, the game is sweet!' I am going to wait until there is a patch that actually makes the tactical aspect of the game realistic before I download Football Manager 2006.
U where right i guess
As in the first 2 season i won the serie a very easy..

TBH I'm not too surprised that you are conceding a lot of goals now that I look at your formation. It doesn't matter how good your defenders are, if you play a back three with no defensive midfielders or wing backs you are going to be vulnerable at the back, especially towards the end of matches when your players are getting tired. There's a reason why teams don't play that type of formation in real life.

If you want to stick with a back three and those particular players then I would make these changes: Give the outside centre backs arrows to the right and left full back positions respectively. You have Heitinga, de Jong and Felipe in your team and they can all play wider if necessary so that shouldn't be a problem. This should help in the picking up of opposition wide players. Drop both Vieira and Palombo back to defensive midfield. Give them quite a low mentality with not a lot of attacking instructions. If things go as I hope, they will cover the spaces left by the outside centre backs when they go wider. What mentality do you currently have Vieira, Palombo, Ronaldo, Reyes and Ronaldinho on? I would pull Ronaldo, Reyes and Ronaldinho back to MR, ML and MC respectively with forward arrows to AMR, AML and AMC. Give Ronaldo and Reyes normal mentality (13 or 14) as the forward arrows will ensure that they get forward frequently anyways. Ronaldinho can have attacking (15 or 16) since he has cover behind him.
Thank u Stuart... Im dowing better now... just beat chelsea and milan 3-1 and 4-1 ! :D

Hey guys
New patch just came out

FM 2006 v6.0.1 Build 70473
Added on 03/11/2005 @ 12:52:22 in General

An updated build of Football Manager 2006 v6.0.1 is now available, it primarily fixes the problems faced by our Portuguese users however it does address some other issues

For those of you who have the game already, we are making this patch available as an EXE only download (all you need to do is drop the exe over your current one)

For those who do not have the patch at all, the full patchers have been updated accordingly.

You can get this update now either by visiting here or hitting the Check for Updates button inside the game

+ Fixed problem with portugeause league and foreigner rule, counting any non-portugeuse players as being foreign, instead of non-EU.
+ Fixed random unregistering of players in leagues which restrict re-registering of players to certain times of the year (Portugal/Spain/Mexico etc)
+ Fixed potential injury news item crash (trying to display injury league table for a non-existent competition).
+ Fixed a crash at the end of the season in Belgium when running with top division only.
+ Added extra sanity checks for manager reputation, to help prevent quick escalation of reputation.
