Regardless of who's fault it was he still had to go if they didn't respect him anymore.
if the board would have grown some balls and gone to the dressing room telling the players to suck it and live with ranieri and everybody who moans will get sold in the summer, than it would not have to be that way ... but when you have some "stars" that would have gladly switched clubs given this opportunity it's difficult to take this as pressure

They could have but what is the point? Even if they stopped being verbal about it the bitter feelings would remain and having a manager who isn't respected by a number of senior players is a recipe for nothing but failure. He had to go.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing. I'm glad Ranieri is gone. With a decent manager this team would be competing for the title.
I think this is what it boils down to at the end. Despite the fact that i think Ranieri is working miracles this season for Roma and is the best manager in the Serie A currently, i do think it was the right decision by Juve to let him go. The fact that he's doing well with Roma does not mean anything at all to Juve.

I mean sure he would have done a better job than Zac or Ciro, but that isn't saying much, is it? The mistake was to not hire a good manager, the mistake was not firing Ranieri.

He did overachieve in a way with Juventus. But Juve made the right decision in letting him go. Even though I personally would have liked him to stay for a season more with more funds, the time when Juve fired him, they didn't have a choice. We were playing horribly and the players where clearly frustrated. In a way, it worked out better for him than it did for Juve. If we were hell bent on buying Diego (which we were) I'm sure Juve wouldn't have won the Serie A this season (or even challenge for it for that matter) with Ranieri in charge. We would have been in the CL positions, but thats about it.

Before we make any moves in the market (buy or sell) we need to get a coach who has a say in the decisions that follow. We need to first build a team thats consistent enough and worry about titles and trophies later. We need to stop wanking by looking at the team sheet like Carlo Garganese and say that Juve are serious title challengers and then half way through the season contradict ourselves and say that the team was never gonna win with the players we bought. Build a team that can actually play a system (or two) well. Focus more on younger players who can serve the team for quite a long time. Forget short term goals and build for the long term. The fans need to get this as well (which we won't).

Forza Ranieri btw, there's nothing more I want this season than him winning the league and rubbing it in Mourinho's face.

Absolutely agree about that -although you shouldn't yaks some of the bleating on these pages as those of real fans-, but he should have bought more wisely. And had the guts to sale the dead weight.
Irush Zebra:

Ranieri was never crap coach. He was always one of the top 3 coaches everywhere he went. With Juve, I just realized now, that he done miracle. But there were always people like Andy, King Ale etc. to call him a looser, and many other names who would talk nonsense and talk from their arse ....

I did not expect even in wildest dream that Ranieri could have such a success with Roma as they hardly qualified for Eu spot last season, but what coach can do without any money?????

Its all about tactics , discipline,

And his tactics and discipline at Juventus were clearly a new depature, magnificant future-focused bliss. I can't number the times he made the best tactical decsion in a game. You guys seem to have been stupified by how shit a season we a having this year. It's amazing what he achieved with those players? Hardly, what benchmark do you have to attest to this? only this current season in which we have almost unmistakable team. There seems to be a group of posters here that just go against convention even if it is the best course of action etc. Ranieri at Juve was a crap coach, unless upper mediocraty sits well with you guys.

You say he needed to buy more wisely and have the guts to sell the duds? Are those not markers of a non-crap coach.
