Well madrid would barely make it into the top four in the EPL if you ask me.

No real challenges all season... its like Inter playing the first 2 seasons after calciopoli but with another horse in the race. Madrid like Inter flopped against weaker teams in Europe.

You really believe the Liga = EPL Alen?

I think your stretching it, the EPL in the past 4-5 years imo has been better than the Spanish league.
Anyway, this shows how close in quality they were in the last 5 years and how much better they were than the rest:
..........................05/06.... 06/07.... 07/08.... 08/09.... 09/10.... total
1. England ........14.428.... 16.625.... 17.875.... 15.000.... 15.500.... 79.428
2 Spain............ 15.642.... 19.000.... 13.875.... 13.312.... 15.642.... 77.471
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3 Italy............. 15.357.... 11.928.... 10.250.... 11.375.... 14.000.... 62.910

So did the Spanish teams in the past few years. After Juande Ramos Sevilla i don't recall any Spanish team doing anything in the UEFA Cup.

When you look at the teams fighting for 4th place this season in the EPL you notice the difference in quality imo. Man City, Tottenham and Aston Villa all i would argue are better than Mallorca, Bilbao or Deportivo.
But that's because Vilarreal and Atletico are having bad seasons. If you compare Tottenham and Villa with Atletico and Vilarreal (full teams) the difference will be much smaller than when you compare them to Mallorca.

I agree. Did it make that Juve team a team of losers or, as Hist said, the biggest flop in the world?
It didn't, because we proved in another competition that we're really good.

Real were eliminated by Lyon. It happens. But they're showing consistency over the season (needed to do good in the league) and it's a quality.
Plus, it's hardly a Mickey Mouse league. Real, Barca, Sevilla and Valencia could have all finished top 4 in England this season, which means that these teams are quality. Other teams in Spain have some top players too, which makes the league a pretty good one.
Calling La Liga a Mickey Mouse league shows bias. Bias needed to underrate what Real are doing there. I didn't hear anyone calling La Liga a Mickey Mouse league last year when Barca were winning.
Real should still be considered major flops. Just look at all the money they spend every single year yet they haven't won in Europe since 2001. They ALWAYS fail to deliver and end up choking. I honestly don't care what they're doing in the league right now -- for me to give them credit, they need to be a force every season on all fronts. Until then, they are nothing but a bunch of rich chokers.

Man, I'll say every time it's a weak league and there's no bias and Barca wanking. So yes, IMO it's a weak league, even if it's second strongest in the world. It's just because one of those teams do great in Europe, like Barcelona. I think you overrate Sevilla and especially Valencia in that argument. They got their lesion in Madrid one year ago when they were rapped but it doesn't really matter. The whole league is only about Real and Barca and that's it. Real are a huge flop, I mainly look at their job in Europe and how they failed. Just look at their transfers and how much money they spent this season and they were kicked out by Lyon.

What kind of argument is "look at how many times they won the CL". Bullshit, look at Milan and you still mock them at every occasion. It's all in the past now. Just look how much money they spent over the last 3 years and everything will be crystal clear. They spend (I have no idea really) over 350mln euros and they did what in Europe? Nothing. Compare their finances to other clubs who won that earlier. Their main object was CL this season and they were humiliated there, even if they win La Liga, they are laughable. Team like that should always be in the semis at least, but they are far, far from that. And you even though they could win the whole thing. Well, maybe next year they get lucky, when they spend 200 more millions.
Yes indeed, completely correct. La Liga is all Barca and Real and the latter are a bunch of floppers. There's no doubt about it.

Have you guys ever considered that if Real and Barca were in either Serie A or EPL, they would still dominate it thoroughly? The Barca team is completely unstoppable and wiped Man Utd. last season, WITH C. RONALDO against them, and they would have no trouble doing the same thing to English or Italian teams.

The last Deloitte report had Madrid and Barca as the 2 richest teams in the world. No other Spanish team even made the top 20. In fact, Sevilla and Valencia, the next 2 most competitive teams, don't even make the top 30.

Every league has it's established teams, but in Spain there are only 2.

The Premier League is actually more competitive this year because the bigger sides have become weaker and more vulnerable. How many games have Chelsea and Man United lost over the course of the current season? Chelsea losing 2-4 @ home against Man City? It's obvious the Premier League is more dynamic and fast paced, but in terms of squad depth, quality, and overall better players, Barca and Madrid shit over the top 4 in England.

I think the same is true for Serie A; the big teams are either having mental farts, too old and slow, or on a constant downward spiral (Juve). This has made the league more entertaining (more goals), while allowing the "smaller" teams to narrow the gap. Hence, a very average Milan team threatens to "steal" the Championship from a dominant Inter, the same way they did back in 99 from Lazio, when a certain Zaccheroni was steadying their ship, and Bierhoff leading their attack. :shifty:
