Yeah I know like half of them is in Europa League group stage games (1 particular shitty team he pounched, but still impressive, especially as he was limping around in these games), but dude can stand still almost all game long and still be the most lethal mofo on the pitch. He is the very definition of the OPPOSITE of awful.

22 games. 21 fucking goals this season, over half of this time he was playing effected by injuries. Yeah the first that comes to mind is he is awful...
Stop mentioning those goals. He scored like 7 against Kosice. Anybody who watched Roma knows what I'm talking about. He's way too slow and in bad shape, he was benched many times and there was a reason.

He's too slow, he can't control the ball like he used to which drops him on way lower level. Ranieri benched him before, when he came in he looked really bad. The only thing left in him is his shot. And ok, maybe not awful, but he's really bad.

The very definition of clueless for me is to say Totti is awful. And to say he was benched and there was a reason, implying because he wasnt good enough, is all too funny to say the least. BECAUSE the reason he keeps being so unhealthy this season is because they KEEP rushing him, as in he is at best 30-50% ready but they still play with him, they are that desperate to play him (and he keeps delivering, but after the shots and painkillers wear off, he is sidelined even more after the game), and you say they bench him when he is healthy? :howler:

And oh, excuse me if its inconvenient for your bizzare assesssment of him, when I mention he has scored 21 goals in 22 games this season. I will stop mentionning :p

Even without those goals, he's still Roma's topscorer in serie A.
Oh because they have so many great strikers that you can't even count them. Vucinic plays from the flank and he's more of an assist man. Okaka? Left for England. Toni came later and he even missed some matches. They have no striker. There were a couple of matches where they played without anyone up front.

Then it takes him 2 months to get to 100%.

You are talking nonsense Osman. If you watched him you'd have an idea why I say that. He looks like a giant, his ass is even bigger than Seedorf's now.
But fine, he's great if that helps. I'm not even bashing him for no reason because he's one of my favorite players.

Yeah, he was a beast against Kosice. Great times. Back then he had like 9 goals on 3 matches.

But you missed my point....

... Even without Totti (which can also mean: Even with Totti in awful form), Ranieri managed to make a scudetto candidate out of a very average Roma. That was my main point.
Totti is a fantastic player so if he was playing in great form we could somehow doubt Ranieri's impact and say that it is Totti, not Ranieri, who is keeping Roma in the scudetto race.
But Totti isn't playing, or when he does he plays bad (as you say), and yet Roma are having an amazing run.

Haters like Andy can doubt Ranieri's impact as much as they want, but only an imbecile won't notice how much Ranieri added to Roma.

Ranieri added a lot and there's no doubt about that. It's hard to jump on his head now when he made that great run. It's just one of those times when he keeps defending the 2-1 till the end, it's how we lost many points. Still, he did an amazing job and there's no doubt that Napoli is damn hard to beat at home. I just find Totti argument funny. It's why I wrote him off for Italy, he can add anything with this current state. Maybe if he loses 10 kilos and finds his old self. I wonder if Lippi will field this great Totti if he continues playing like this, because you know, he scored 21 goal so far which is great.

Drop the sarcasm kiddo, you said he is awful or bad, he is FAR FAR from it, as simple as that, nothing else needs to be said. That he still scores alot even when he is way more static, lethargic and physically hampered as he has been in his ageing state, quite clearly shows his class in very obvious way.

I'm standing behind my words. He's in bad form and he can't add anything now. He has the shot and first touch. The rest vanished when he gained weight. Talk whatever you want, he had good matches this season like when he scored a hattrick against Bologna but lately he's nothing. The end.

Dusan, you can't expect Totti at this age to be fast, he's almost 34 years old man. Add to that the injuries he's facing, his situation is pretty similar to Del Piero. At this age, you don't have to look at their speedy legs but what they add to the team.

Totti is a brilliant goalscorer, be it a slow Totti or fast Totti. He's a quality player up until now and capable of making a difference even in his worst days. His vision, his passes, his shooting etc, why don't you look at these instead of looking at how slower he has become? It's only normal that players become slower. Like Zidane, Del Piero now, Romario before and so on.

And saying he's nothing is a poor thing to say man.

Saying he is nothing now is a different thing.

Saying he's slow is not even my point. It's just one of the things I mentioned. First of all he was never a fast player, it's his style to play differently. His performances are way below his level nowadays and it's all I'm saying. He's a legend, but he is not his old self. It's not about being slow, it's about having more weight, he's not as decisive as before nor he's having some amazing passes like he used to do so. I never questioned his talent nor his legend status, it's just his performances where I don't see Totti in him.

Why should a Juventus fan like Ranieri? It doesn't make sense.
It has nothing to do with liking him. It has a lot to do with hating him. Hating him so much that you'd prefer Inter and Milan to win the scudetto instead of Roma. And not because you hate Roma, but because if Roma wins it you can keep repeating how Ranieri never won anything in his life.

Ranieri ruined us like Ciro Ferrara did

Well, he is a loser, sorry if that offends you.

I'd rather have Roma win the Scudetto than the other aforementioned teams, but it won't happen. And you know why? I bet you do, and I shouldn't have to repeat it.

I didn't watch a lot of Roma so I can't argue with you. But on 15 serie A matches he scored 10 goals and made 5 assists. That's 1 goal or assist per match. Even in an awful shape he's still a difference maker. That's what they're trying to tell you.

If it's Barca, Chelsea, Manchester, Real or Inter, then yes, he'll be more harmful than helpful. But in this rather average Roma squad (I mean, they have Burdisso in defense, Baptista in attack and they have Perrotta, Taddei and Brighi in midfield. It's everything but a great bunch of players), even a one legged Totti is needed.
