Menez did a great job of holding possession and drawing fouls when Roma were under pressure.

That was the best game I've seen from Mexes in a long time.

I though Pizarro was the best player on the pitch, though. He controlled the tempo of the game and prevented Inter getting up any real head of steam.

it was a piss poor clearance from Brighi, I think? I don't think anyone would have enough time to react to that...and of course, fuckin Samuel, fabulous finish :sergio:

Apparently Mourinho ripped Balotelli a new one after his poor performance today, deserved but insulting him through the media is not exactly a great way to get through to your player

“Balotelli was terrible today, close to zero. He didn't move, didn't work and did not help the team with [Dejan] Stankovic injured and [Wesley] Sneijder incredibly tired. Mario only played 45 minutes on Wednesday, he's 19 and could have done a lot more.

“I cannot do more with him. I need help. I tried everything with different strategies, to be closer to him and sweeter, more distant and aggressive. Now I must wait for his response.

“This is Mario. He steps on to the field and we never know what he can give to the team - everything or nothing. I urge the media to stay closer to my strategy and so together we can help him.

“He listens and talks to the Coach, but sometimes I don't know if he is 100 per cent in agreement with me. He has improved, but with the talent he has he ought to be giving more by now.”

Interesting stuff.

Mourinho is clearly really fed up with him, but this could backfire big time and cause Inter a major problem.

I look forward to seeing how Balotelli responds.

:agree: Mourinho must be ready to give up on him with a statement like this, Balotelli is very talented and you are right something like this could really backfire for Jozay. With Santon angry as well, it looks like both of Inter's young jewels could be set to leave the club in the not to distant future...

Comment by Alessandro Altobelli in JSC sport channels studio after the game.

"I'm happy to hear that Amauri hasn't been called up to the NT, there are too many foreigners in our NT already."

Typical Inter, they have two immensely talented players for how young they are but the inner squabbling hampers their play and will force them out to shine at a rival club

Actually Balo is somewhat extraordinary case. He also acts like a brat when playing with Italy.

I think his attitude is something what could very well ruin his career. His still young, but he is growing a bad reputation, and the only way his heading if he keeps this up is down. Talent wise, many would be interested, head wise not so many. Needs to grow up really.
