It is very difficult to tell if Ranieri made Roma play a beautiful game or is it Fiorentina that were crap!!
to be honest it was not really either, 20 minutes into the game i doubted whether either team had the quality to score. the penalty was decisive to the outcome of the game, it really relaxed the crowd and allowed the team to start to play football.
that said though, the 3rd goal was stunning, De Rossi played a fabulous ball with the outside of his boot into Totti and he reciprocated with a wonderful ball with the outside of his foot to De Rossi who smashed the header past Frey from 16 yards
Roma will be fine as long as those two continue to shine and Vucinic stays fit

Motta out for a month Monday 21 September, 2009

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Inter received some ugly news this morning when the club doctor revealed Thiago Motta would be out for a month.

Inter's chief medic Franco Combi has informed Jose Mourinho that Motta has ruptured a muscle in the back of his right thigh.

The Brazilian will start therapy in the next few days with a view to returning to first team action in mid to late October.

Mourinho will be particularly concerned as Motta performs a crucial role in the midfield and has Champions League experience.

He has started his Inter career a little slowly, but showed signs, especially against Milan, that he is worth the money Inter spent on him earlier this summer.

Motta will miss Inter's trip to Rubin Kazan next week and could also be out when Dinamo Kiev travel to San Siro on October 20.

OFFICIAL: ATALANTA HIRE CONTE Monday 21 September, 2009

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Atalanta have pulled off a shock move, not so much by firing Angelo Gregucci, but by hiring Antonio Conte in his place.

The knives were out for Gregucci after he suffered his fourth straight defeat since taking over from Gigi Del Neri this summer.

All the money was on either Daniele Arrigoni or Mario Beretta replacing him, but Atalanta have surprised everybody by luring Conte.

The man who led Bari back to the top flight earlier this summer was linked with the Juventus job when Claudio Ranieri got the boot.

He lost out to Ciro Ferrara and then resigned from his position with Bari.

Conte earned quite a name for himself while at the helm of the Galletti, playing thrilling attacking football, often lining his team up in a 4-2-4.

However, he is unproven at this level, but Bergamo is very excited about his appointment.

Not if you ask Del Piero :)
I'd like to play both if possible and yea I don't think Del Piero would be really happy with that but he's not getting any younger and we should start looking for his potential replacement ; the ideal answer would be Cassano. His talent is unique really and I think he would fit-in here very good. The most important thing would be his attitude, it's not the old Cassano it seems, we see no new problems but his form is  I would be really to change formation for him again next season too, instead of 4-3-1-2 I'd go with 4-3-2-1 with him and Diego behind Amauri. That way maybe even Giovinco would get to play more and it would be perfect since it seems that Trez is on his way out.

Our attack would be a lot stronger, Cassano would provide creativity and passes that even Diego is not capable of so our striker would be unbelievable service up-front.

Cassano

It would be perfect mercato but it doesn't seem unlikely, we'd have some money from Tiago/Poulsen too. Inter is also after Antonio, it's our last shot if we want him and that move would give Secco status of a world class. ;)

So where will Del Piero play if Diego and Cassano are in Juve and they're both performing great?

And nobody will ask Lippi if he wants Cassano to join Juve or not.
If the team is doing well I don't think he'll mind and his not getting any younger I don't think he expects to play game after game.

Next year Ale will turn 36, I repeat, 36, its hard to picture him almost granpa age in terms of football, but sadly getting there. So dont think Ale will be suprised or such if we get his replacement while we can soon enough.

Then we'll need a great poacher with Diego and Cassano in the team. Any ideas? :D
