Mutu agent wants Juve support

Romanian striker hoping former employers will help to pay fine

Adrian Mutu's agent believes Juventus should pay a substantial portion of his client's compensation fine.

The Fiorentina striker has been ordered to pay former employers Chelsea £14.6million by the Court of Arbitration for Sport for breach of contract.

Mutu has admitted that he is unable to generate such funding by himself and is looking to find a compromise.

With Juve having acquired his services as a free agent following his sacking by Chelsea in 2004, after he tested positive for cocaine, the Romanian is hoping they may agree to carry some of the financial burden.

Mutu's representative, Giovanni Becali, hopes that will prove to be the case, with his client prepared to reimburse the Blues for the money he earned while in West London.

"I believe Mutu has to give back the money he earned at Chelsea," Becali told calciomercato.com.

"But the rest should be paid by Juventus, Livorno and the Moggi family (Mutu's former agent Alessandro Moggi)."

He added: "We will put Juventus and those that are responsible for this situation in a difficult position.
Fortune

"He has been abandoned by everyone, including those that made a fortune in his transfer to Juventus as a free agent.

"No-one at Juve has come out and said anything, nor the executives or his former team-mates.

"Mutu already paid a price with a seven-month ban and without pay. He is ready to give back what he earned. I will fight until death so that Mutu gets justice."

It had been suggested that Mutu could secure a lucrative move to Russia in order to help resolve his problematic situation, with Terek Grozny said to be keen, but Becali has strenuously denied that such a switch is on the cards.

He said: Grozny? Let's not joke about it. Grozny is a team that is in the middle of the table in the Russian top league, where there are three Romanians playing.

"They can afford him as the club president is friends with (Russian Prime Minister Vladimir) Putin. But Terek is Terek and Mutu is Mutu and we have not received any offers."

Meanwhile, it has been confirmed that Mutu is set for 10 days on the sidelines with a thigh injury picked up on international duty - ruling him out of a Serie A clash with Cagliari this weekend and a UEFA Champions League date with Lyon next Wednesday.

I havent heard a single word from the management regarding this issue.Im kinda stunned that they think that Juve should pay some of this.
Romanian press keeps reporting this.
They are in a desperate need for an urgent solution. This situation is absurd its core.
IMO Chelsea should be banned from football world if they keep on with this ridiculous request. They sum they require (regardless if they are right for a is laughable and its is extremely dangerous for the sport and abusive
And it will create a catastrophic precedent. It is not Mutu's fault that they overpaid that much for him and those money went to Parma, not to his pocket!

Giovani (his agent) boasted that he is the Moggi of Romania, i hope that he ends like Moggi too...

It's also not Mutu's fault that they (Chelsea) didn't do anything to help him get past the problem and just told him to clear his desk. Hope they get a ban from Uefa comps for a year or something.

After all this controversy about United poaching young Italians, how come the premiership clubs only seem to go for players from smaller teams? I guess Roma have been victims but It seems like the English have been mostly interested in talent from Italy's smaller sides. Not that I'm complaining in fact I'm happy none of Juve's youth players have been lost but I'm sure that Juventus, Milan, and Inter must have tons of talented players under 18 and I'm curios as to why we haven't had to worry about poaching. Is this just coincidental or does our status as "big" clubs somehow make the English more cautious?

it makes the player in question less likely to want to leave the club...I mean if you were a Juve Primavera and had a chance to represent the club where you grew up, would you be willing to give all that up to start all over again in a new club and new country?

Well, the problem is that English clubs offer the player a contract at 16 and sometimes jobs for their family. Of course those guys go, I mean, what if he turned down for example Uniteds offer and the week after he got so injured that he had to quit football.

Because the English can sign them to contracts while we can't

Italian WC winning team.
Where did they play when they were 16?

Buffon - Parma
Peruzzi - Roma
Amelia - Roma

Zaccardo- Bologna
Grosso - Renato Curi
Cannavaro - Napoli
Barzagli - Rondinella
Nesta - Lazio
Zambrotta- Como
Oddo - Renato Curi Angolana
Materazzi - Messina Peloro

De Rossi- Ostiamare
Gattuso - Perugia
Camoranesi - Aldosivi (ARG)
Barone- Parma
Perrotta - Reggina
Pirlo - Brescia

Del Piero - Padova
Toni - Modena
Totti - Roma
Gilardino - Piacenza
Iaquinta- Reggiolo
Inzaghi - Piacenza

What i'm trying to say is that usually the less devoloped areas give more football talent (On the list above you can see the city of Rome, Naples and the rest are smaller cities. No Milano, Torino, Florenze).
It's not a rule of course.
So, a youngster from a smaller team isn't necessarily inferior to the 16 year olds who're training in Juve, Milan or Inter youth schools.
What you said is valid too. The big club status is also a factor.

why the hate cron?..he was the biggest romanian football agent. Anyways chelsea got him fired..juve took him for free...that was the deal...why juve must pay after these years for a player they bought for free? no sane judge will decide this.

It's also not Mutu's fault that he doped.
yep...sadly a stupid moment but maybe it was the best for him to return to serie a

^^ Fiind Dinamovist, i used to like/tolerate him and i see where is he coming from. But he has gone too far with the "i control the Romanian football as Moggi controlled Italy" attitude.
("Eu nu am nimic de castigat, controlez tot fotbalul din Romania"
"Ii voi obliga si pe cei de la Juventus, Livorno si de familia Moggi sa plateasca")
When it was time to protect Mutu and ask what he should he hided behind Moggi. Even know he refrained of attacking Chelsea, because he is afraid of them. Asking money from Juve is unfair and he only does that because we can afford it, not because we should!
But if he could fix/trade the unfair situation that Mutu faces,
by unfairly somehow tries to involve us with that pathetic attempt he tried to do with that new article!
He would in a heartbeat, knowing that we have nothing to do with this!
Thats roothless and evil.

I ve been saying this for decades and i completely agree, that the under-development zones give birth to more talents.
There are plenty reasons for that hunger and a chance for glory and wealth beyond dreams, determine more kids to give this sport/dream a try.

In big cities/countries children have more alternatives, mostly due to their enhanced changes to study and find an efficient way to survive, elsewhere!
There are social factors etc. Probably in the future, as football changes and the talent becomes less important than the athletic attributes, this situation may change. As vast cities will "manufacture" more and better "athletes", due to their increased number of individuals/candidates, better facilities/medication etc.

How ever the improved scouting system, the improved coverage, the improved industry of idolizing football players still make the difference!
And the hunger still prevails, we have recently discovered a new continent (Africa) and still plan to discover the other two! (North America + Eastern Asia)
Lots of talents are waiting to be discovered and born there, hopefully the Molinaros out there wont outperform them in the future aspect of the modern football...

That's a very interesting list you posted I had no Idea about the origins of Italy's 2006 squad. But I was not saying smaller clubs youth players are inferior by any means I just thought that with our excellent youth setup and that Juve seems to produce lots of talented youth I was surprised we were not victims. But I have only been a football fan for three years so I have yet to see players rise from 18 year old talents into their late 20's.

geez what a moron...didn't knew about this. I respect him for what he has done for the post-comunism football period 'cuz he helped hagi..popescu..adi ilie and many other players to go out to good teams (of course he didn't done it for free..we all know his cut was a biggie). But now he is getting pathetic..after "spitting" and showing his face to shows and accusing mutu, being enemies, now he's turning 180. He is doing it only for the money...but he won't get it from us, that i am sure
