Cassano to replace Zlatan?

As Sampdoria confirm they want Amantino Mancini, rumours emerge Inter are selling Zlatan Ibrahimovic to make way for Antonio Cassano!

“Mancini is in pole position on our wish-list,” announced Blucerchiati director of sport Giuseppe Marotta.

“For the moment there is nothing solid in this story, but you know in football nobody can tell what will happen tomorrow.”

The unsettled Inter winger has been a flop since arriving from Roma and the club would be willing to sell or loan him out.

However, there is another twist to the tale that is appearing in some newspapers, as the decision to hand Zlatan Ibrahimovic to Barcelona caused some controversy.

It is no secret that Inter President Massimo Moratti admires Cassano, nor that FantAntonio is a big Nerazzurri fan and has said he’d only leave Sampdoria for the San Siro giants.

There are now reports Ibra was allowed to walk away to make room for Cassano, so Mancini and around £20m cash would bring the Bari Vecchia talent to Inter.

“[Franco] Semioli is also a player who would suit our needs, but we have not yet reached an agreement with Fiorentina,” continued Sampdoria chief Marotta.

“We are looking for a defender and a striker with certain characteristics, I’m sure they will arrive. As for the players whose contracts expire in 2010, we will talk that over after pre-season training.”

Shit i seriously hope inter dont sign cassano, imo he'd be far more effective than zlatan for them.

Channel 4 also links Inter to Xabi Alonso
Xabi Alonso and Cassano would surely strengthen Inter
Cassano Eto strike force would probably be the best in Serie A

I think Cassano would choke for them. He's bette of in Sampdoria for the rest of his career.
I certainly hope so but cassano has wonderful vision & his killer passes to Eto'o could unclock any defence.

On paper yes, they need to form a bond & gel together first.

Like I mentioned earlier, only Barcelonas midfield is better than ours in Europe. Time will tell though.
:shifty:
Add Chelsea/Madrid into the group of top midfields.

I really like ours, hopefully we can fuck up the rest of Europe.
add Liverpool as well, Alonso,Mascherano + Gerrard is a formidable 3 in midfield, if only they would stop forcing Stevie G out wide

Cron isnt thick,im pretty sure he thinks cassano would be a far bigger drama queen than zlatan & cause team instabilty within the inter ranks.
well that is the hope:xfinger:

Camoranesi would be the missing piece of the puzzle for a perfect midfield for Liverpool, too bad for them they ain't gonna have him.

Report: Ibra 'unhappy with Mou'

Turin-based newspaper 'Tuttosport’ claims Zlatan Ibrahimovic wants to leave Inter because of Jose Mourinho.

The suggestion is based on an alleged quote from the striker during a recent training session: “This is not my kind of football.”

For some time pundits in Italy have been concerned that Inter are overly-dependent on the Swede, who was Capocannoniere with 25 goals in 35 Serie A appearances last season.

The team often looks to him in order to pull them out of a bind and, according to 'Tuttosport’, Ibra is tired of being the sole creative figure.

This is supposedly why he is pushing for a move to Barcelona, where Inter have a deal worth £40m plus Samuel Eto’o and the loan of Aleksandr Hleb.

There was a message on a Twitter account purporting to be from Ibrahimovic this weekend, but that proved to be false.

Meanwhile, the stress levels are rising at Inter’s training camp in Los Angeles, as last night their hotel was temporarily evacuated due to a bomb scare.

The Nerazzurri begin their tour of the USA tonight against Mexicans Club America in Palo Alto, valid for the World Football Challenge.
