At his age, Messi, Ronaldo, Fabregas, Ronaldo(Brazilian), Pato and too many others are/were hundred times better than him.

There's a reason why Lippi leaves him out, Mourinho keeps him out of the squad several times...it's not only because of his attitude but because they can do without his qualities.
ehrm, no !?!

pato only started to look good the last two seasons (if you are generous) ...

there is no point in denying his already huge quality/talent

Lippi does it 100% out of attitude, Balotelli is defenitely better then every single attacker called up in this latest Azzurri squad (I dare you to say otherwise :D). And Mourinho does it 100% out of attitude, he SAYS SO, that Balo doesnt work hard enough or that he doesnt play with responsbility (defending bit more), talks about this and pumps him up with this.

And Balo usually picks up his slack and does his work on the pitch more and more, he is delivering for Inter from the bench or his few starts (7 league goals, 4 assists), so there isnt any footballing reason he is benched for.

Of course the main reason is attitude, no one disagrees here. But, he doesn't take him ALSO because he can do very well without the unbelievable qualities that Dusan mentioned.

If he was really THAAAAAT good and one of the best like Dusan claims he would take him, trust me.

I just realized that Genoa own Rannochia, Bonucci, Bocchetti and Criscito, thats basically the future of this league. Well played.

Rannocchia sold to Inter it seems, Criscito will eventually soon enough leave them, I hope to us, or we just buy Bonnucci from them. Bocchetti is struggling but if he also does well prolly Viola or Roma etc. So they wont really have the future too long. But well played by them either way.

Their DMs suck ass (very thin midfield), and their 3-4-3 is badly exposed tactically yes. They went from 3-1 to 3-4 at their home against frigging Bologna.

Of course I know they won't be around in Genoa for long but I'm really impressed by how they managed to find all these upcoming stars before anybody knew anything about them. They have some great scouts it seems.

Yes, how they get them is interesting, not Criscito because he is their youth product (we bought him from them at 17, then later sold back half), but since I been following the Azzurrini for years, you notice the career paths of these players before they are in Serie A. And Genoa basically rule the Serie B market (Like we used to do in 70s-80s, most of our golden generation players came from Serie B), they buy parts of upcoming hyped youngsters, let them keep them for a while, then later buy whole of them and introduce them to Serie A so to speak. Bocchetti was gotten from Frosinone, and Rannocchia Arezzo I think, for both pre-deals or giving useless players in reverse etc.

But yeah, they are doing a good job, to a degree, because they have a real ambitious President and money who can do deals and such without a sporting director (he doesnt have one), but still they wasted quite alot of money without going anywhere really, based on their investment.

I disagree, they didn't waste they made. They made huge profits to be honest. They got Rannocchia for peanuts and are getting 15 million euros and/or youngsters when Inter buy him. Cristiscio is gonna be sold for another 12 million euros. Milito and Motta came for about 12 million euros. They were sold to Inter for 25 million euros and youngster Bonnucci and Meggiorini. Bonucci will then be sold for about 10 million euros.

Genoa know they can't possibly be a Scudetto winning team but they still make mad profits on their youngsters and still finish decently in the league.

I know all that, I mean they sold Milito and Motta and GOT WEAKER FOR IT. Oughta be obvious yeah, but every single of their replacement for Milito has been a big flop, to the point that they took back Freshwater from loan because their attack was so unreliable (and Suazo who is hot and cold), and their midfielders are THE MAIN reason their struggling for sure (Motta isnt anything special, but was solid anchor of their midfield), they offer zero cover for their defence.

They were progressing as a team before, but not anymore. They are either stagnating or regressing, not moving forward. I like them and their style, so I watch their games when I can, and no not same Genoa, quite flawed team as heck, especially defensively (they are laughable defensively now). Gasperini's 3-4-3 is very flawed and taken advantage of, and the material he has to work with is pretty average. Which he says himself, he criticised Preziosi a bit for the players he signed for him in the context of his system, besides the overall fit for the formation to boot.

I don't believe he is. The kid is pretty special, he just needs to sort out his attitude in order to become world class. He's got all the ingredients imo.

Balotelli: Italy, racism and Mou Tuesday 2 March, 2010

Mario Balotelli bets on a 2010 World Cup place, explains how he deals with racism and what he hates about Jose Mourinho.

The Inter striker was interviewed by comedy show Le Iene and covered a wide range of subjects that have seen him cause controversy this season.

When asked if he would be playing in South Africa this summer, SuperMario replied with a wager.

“I bet you a dinner I’ll go. If I am called for the World Cup, you have to buy me three dinners and I’ll bring you my Italy shirt. If the Azzurri win, I’ll buy you 40 dinners, however many you want!”

Balotelli could not make his international debut at Under-21 level until he turned 18 due to red tape over his adoption. That Ghanaian heritage has caused problems for the teenager with racist chants aimed against him.

“I am Italian. They try to set me apart because of the colour of my skin, but I am Italian and they know it.

“I don’t know the answer to racism, as I am only a small part of this world and I cannot change it. I won’t say it’ll always be this way, as things are already improving.”

There have been suggestions games could be stopped by the referee if there are repeated racist insults.

“If it were up to me, they could insult me from start to finish and I wouldn’t stop. If they do it to another player and he does want to call a halt to the game, then that’s his way of dealing with it. In my view it’s just another way of trying to intimidate opponents.”

Balotelli has frequently been frozen out of the Inter squad for bickering with Coach Mourinho.

“We really like each other a lot, which is why we argue so much! Our last big row was because I had a cut near my eye and so I didn’t go back to defend a set play. Luckily we didn’t concede, otherwise he’d have killed me!”

When asked if there was something he would like to tell Mourinho that he so far hadn’t the courage to express, Balotelli came up with an intriguing thought.

    “I really hate his car.”

SuperMario also shook off persistent rumours he supports Milan, as he has twice been spotted in the stands during the Rossoneri’s games.

“I did support Milan as a child, but now I don’t support anyone. I play for Inter and win for Inter. I went to see a great match between Milan and Manchester United, that’s all.”

    This was nice :D
He's making it harder to hate him.

I'm just going to admit it. I like Balotelli a lot.. There, I said it.
Likewise. He makes it easy to hate him with his personality, but if he got his head on straight....I think the guy could take over the world. He's got it all.

Oh, but I almost forgot; Se saltelli, muore Balotelli.
