They may have the best of players but there are many teams that would give them a hard time. I for one don't see them get past Barcelona, RM and Manu. Hell, Chelsea can knock them out in the 2nd leg. It ain't over yet.

But that remains to be seen..

Inter would knock out Man U and I think they have a fair shot at Madrid, if Barca continue to play poorly them too. Playing away to Chelsea will be tough, they will have to score at least once more tonight or in London.

I don't think they will score another tonight nor will they do that at London. They might as well get kicked out from this stage.

And if they don't, both Barca and RM are both more than capable of doing so even if both of those teams keep the level that they are at now.

Jack, IMO Merda only won this game due to a special condition and that involves 3 Chelsea key players missing through injury and those are Cole, Bosingwa and Essien. The late being the most important player in their Midfield in the past 3 seasons or so.

Adding to that your own theory about those 3 other players of Chelsea whoa re afraid of Moronho and just can't work thing out tonight. But that will change on their own turf between their fans.

Look at how they close the spaces, they don't leave an inch for Chelsea. Stamford Bridge is a smaller field and their job will be much easier.

Inter's confidence has got to be soaring after this win, just when they were going through their weakest point of the season they beat Chelsea. The second leg will be tough but this isn't the Inter of last season, Mourinho is finally getting what he wants in the CL.

The second leg could go either way but if they get past Chelsea they are contenders.

Zampa: 'Liga and EPL will fail'

Maurizio Zamparini warns, “sooner or later, English and Spanish clubs will fail” because they don't have the Italian financial rules.

It is reported a UEFA inquiry has found that the 18 recognised Premier League clubs - which do not include Portsmouth and West Ham because of their financial irregularities - have more debts than all of the remaining 714 European clubs combined.

“Italian football is not in crisis. We are doing perfectly well in financial terms, because the fenceposts put down work if anything too well,” insisted Palermo President Zamparini.

“No clubs can fail mid-season here, every transfer operation is covered by a bank statement. In terms of results we're not doing too badly either.

“The real failures are the English and Spanish clubs, even the Germans, where their finances are just frightening. They are in dire straits.”

When asked why Liga and Premiership teams do so well in the Champions and Europa League, Zamparini said the bubble would soon burst.

“They dominate and win precisely because they have no rules. The Spanish can afford to take Kaka and Zlatan Ibrahimovic away because they pay 3-4 million Euros more in wages and 60-70 million more for the transfer.

“In my view they are the crazy ones and we should not follow their example. Sooner or later the English and Spanish clubs will fail.”

Nonetheless, Zamparini feels more can be done to make the Serie A clubs more competitive.

“First of all we need to reduce Italian tax rates to the level of the other European countries.

“Then Europe should set salary caps, although I realise that is a very difficult thing to achieve. I'd do it tomorrow.”

He is usually full of it and says some pretty crazy shit, but I'd say he's right on this time.

Well we have all seen about Portsmouth, and there are some smaller La Liga sides in real trouble. It won't affect big clubs so much (so they don't get to spend £25m on players, boo hoo), because they will always find something to fall back on.

don't agree with the guy, maybe the smaller clubs in these leagues will be affected but not the big ones.

Both real madrid and barca looks much safer than the rest of la liga clubs but in england IMO the general state of their league is pretty stable financially. All the big debts is sustainable.
