I do. I followed both of them since the very start of their careers. Maldini always played for a much better team and that makes him a better player in people's mind. I have no doubt at all that if Maldini was in Inter and Zanetti in Milan, you'd have been singing a different song now.
I always rated Baresi higher than Maldini. Although Maldini was indeed superb and had an amazing career. To me though, Zanetti was the better player.

Pazzini is more of a poacher, I could see him scoring as many goals but he doesn't have the same skill on the ball as Milito.

Given the right environment (which could be Juve under Del Neri) I see Pazzini exploding into a world class poacher. I would be happy to get him next season.

I have seen them both play and I still believe Maldini is the better back/defender. I wouldn't look at the team result to judge how good a player is or not. kleberson won the world cup in a great team, but he is still a shitty player. Maldini's positioning in defense and technical awareness was out of this world, add to it the perfect runs and overlapping with sublime crosses. Zanetti MIGHT be a better over all player than Maldini, but he is definitely not a better LB.

Now when it comes to Baresi who I consider the greatest CB ever, I think niether Maldini nor Zanetti are good enough to lace his boots

Zanetti was never the best in the world at any point in time. Maldini spent some time as THE best... yes at old age zanetti became better but thats because maldini got weaker as he got older. Zanetti is fucking consistent and old age doesnt affect him. Today's zanetti is the same as zanetti of 10 years ago.

Zanetti has been always one of the best but never the best.
Full backs like Cafu, Carlos, Maicon, Alves, Ashley Cole, zambrotta, Maldini etc. were better than him. The difference is Carlos and Cafu are over. I bet Zanetti will be better than maicon, alves and cole in a few years lol.
He is already better than zambrotta again.

A dude I was watching the game with said something obvious but good anyways, that there is too much focus on who the coahces are and how they win titles for these kind of games, when its players like Milito performing like that, that win games.
