It's normal for UEFA to give more extended bans for bad tackles that got a straight red card, isn't it?

No. Red card is one game ban and depending on how harsh it was they can extend that ban and they did that today.

I was under the impression that a straight red was 3 automatically.

That Real game was as one sided as you could watch, Higuain should of had about 6 goals. It's all IF's and BUT's. Real Madrid threw it away against Lyon.

I think that is only the case for violent conduct.

For a bad tackle, it just comes down to how bad the tackle was.

No. Red card only means end of the current game and banned for the next. Now the responsible league or Uefa or whatever can decide depending on the intense of the tackle/kick/punch/whatever if they want to extend the ban.

It was obvious he didn't mean it, and he would have gotten the ball had what's his name not touched it just prior to his foot going over the ball.

I think you can tell he was trying to put his foot on top of the ball and pull it back.
