Robben said in an interview (shortly before signing with Bayern) that he preferred to stay at Madrid trying to get a starting spot rather than going to Bayern. It has nothing to do with Bayern being a small petty club or not but fact is that they are the least attractive team (for the players) among the big clubs in Europe. Mostly because of the differences between Bundesliga and the other top leagues.
