Would anyone like to tell me how much Real Madrid spent on their squad and how much Barca spent on theirs?
Only last summer:
Real:

Xabi Alonso for a fee of €35m; Alvaro Arbeloa for a fee of €4m; Esteban Granero for a fee of €4m; Karim Benzema for a fee of €35m; Raul Albiol for a fee of €15m; Cristiano Ronaldo for a fee of €94m; Kaka for a fee of €65m.

Barca:
Dmytro Chygrynskiy for a fee of €25m; Keirrison for a fee of €14m; Zlatan Ibrahimovic for a fee of €66m ( 46m cash + Eto'o) ; Maxwell for a fee of €4.5m.

We had the same thoguht about Grosso. After his arrival things went downhill. No one is able to keep his good performance anymore at this Juve.

I didn't follow him but there was a great deal of excitement for him to come here, so I assumed he'd be good. Which he was on first few appearnaces. Then he just lost form suddenly.

:D

For some reason I feel happy for you. You never gave up hoping :D

:D to be honest tho I expected Chelsea to reach the semis, but I knew the other 3 won't do as good, as they declined after selling some of their players. Not to mention the other teams got stronger.

btw shouldn't Fergeson get punished for his racist comment?

"Typical Germans" for getting his player sent off?

even though Ribery and Van Bommel were the players involved, and they are french and dutch, but still he deserves a fine.

well next year we defiantly need to finish in the top 3, I feel that next year will be last year we'll have the top 4 spots, especially with the likely odds that their being a German team in the final for each European competition.

Yeah because the majority of this forum saw his heroics in 2006 and foamed their pants in anticipation of him doing it again, when he hadn't produced anything close to what he did that summer since. I'm not surprised the majority didn't bother to think about the transfer at all. He cost €2,5m for a reason.

Inter will most likely sit back for both matches. One would think Mourinho would learn from his mistakes, but potentially not. Perhaps 1-1 or 0-0 with a side going through on away goals because Barca won't have an easy time breaking down that defense. But we've seen this before... Barca usually finds a way to break down those sort of sides, whether it be Chelsea or Inter. The latter will have to hope that they will face Marquez and Milito because if they will then I'd bet on Inter. Otherwise, Barca should progress.

Arsenal and other sides have shown that to beat Barca, you have to take the game to them. No sitting back.
I think you can beat Barca by sitting back to some extent.

However, you need a lot of pace upfront and you still need to press hard in midfield.

I wonder if Mourinho will have the nerve to play three strikers again to try and pin Barca's full backs back.

If they can pay Poulsen's wages 7mln along with the taxes then they can pay 2k euros for coining some guy too. :p
I meant Aberdeen.

I couldn't care less if Juve get fined.

Unless I've heard very selective quotes (not impossible), I think it wasn't so much that they got his player sent off, but more that a German team will find a way to scrape a win even if they don't look like all that much of a team - it's a stereotype precious to English football. As stereotypes go, it's not exactly up there with the lazy nigger or the thieving Jew*. A fine would be a little silly.

*These are examples of negative stereotypes. If you think I'm actually claiming either one has any basis in fact, you're at least two kinds of idiot.
