It is. And Motta is playing and he is more offensive than defensive. The only defensive midfielder that Mourinho is fielding is Cambiasso.

Mourinho is only showing bravery in this approach, an approach that takes teams to the CL final.
It was brave for sure.

I still expect to see a wing play that gives them width with Milito up front waiting for his chance.

Inter will play like they played against Barca I guess. Defense, and rely on counters. I don't know if that's a smart thing to do in England.
With a small pitch like the Stamford Bridge, it is to their advantage to defend. Do you remember Chelsea's Mourinho in London? They barely let in any goals.

Yeah, I know what you mean.

It's going to be titans clash anyhow. I think Chelsea would beat em "easily" with Essien though. But let's see now, Serie A vs EPL. It's the only one left.

Nice to see an Italian team playing an aggressive approach in England especially when they carry the advantage.

This Inter is bound to succeed in Europe for similar reasons that Fiorentina played so well, they don't have that old Italian approach that Milan use. I can see them making the final depending upon who they have to play

I think Inter will try to play in a reasonably balanced fashion.

They won't be overly attacking, but they will try to avoid getting pinned back in their own area for long periods of the game.

Maybe, but against Barca they played 4-4-2. It was supposed to be a 4-3-1-2 with Stankovic the link between the midfielders and the attack, but in reality the 2 strikers were completely isolated and there was no width whatsoever because they didn't have real wingers, nor there was a link between the robust midfield and the attackers.

Sneijder brings different qualities compared to Stankovic. He can play a good ball that will open up the defense or start a good counter. With Eto'o and Pandev playing more on the wings, Inter also gets width and speed.

This formation is much more promising for counter attack than the one against Barca.
Also, have in mind that it's very hard to win the ball from Barca's midfield, due to the excellent possession and passing game, and start a counter. It should be easier to win it from Chelsea's midfielders.

Eh yeah I guess that's a good point. If Inter survives first 25 minutes it can get rather complicated IMO. Tension is gonna grow and mistakes to follow while Inter can take those chances. Kinda hard to predict the right outcome.

But seeing Mikel there I think we're going to see over 2 goals tonight. And I see some 30 meter shot, ripping the net.

A big thing will be Inter's wide players against Chelsea's fullbacks.

Will Ivanovic and Zhirkov push up as normal or will they be scared of leaving space for Inter to counter?

If they don't go forward, Chelsea may lack width and get bogged down in the middle of the pitch.
