Injuries aside, you'll beat them and you'll do it in the same fashion as you did it in 07/08 when you outplayed them.

This season, at least performance wise, Milan were worse than they were in their last 5-6 CL group stages. Couldn't beat Zurich, were outplayed twice by Marseille but had an incredible luck and they were lucky again when they faced Real without Ronaldo. That 2nd half in Madrid against a Ronaldo-less (and still not gelled) Real Madrid was the only good performance for them in Europe this season. Everything else was average or below average.
Had the schedule been different and Milan got Real in the 1st and 5th or 2nd and 6th round, Milan would have most probably joined Juve in Europa League.
They play slow football too, just like Juve and Inter and that suits your team perfectly well.

You know your team much better than I do, but in your place i'd rather get Milan than Porto or Lyon.
You're right about Milan going through despite being mediocre, but believe me when the time comes that we need our players to step up, they choke. So Milan stand a chance against us. Like i said in that post, i believe we can beat them, but believe me, we won't beat them easily.

The games are played in spring, Milan might be in great form by then. Lets not forget that they s--ked in group stage in the same season when they eventually went on and beat Pool in the final. They needed extra time winner against Celtic at home.

I am not saying Milan will go far, but they seem to have that DNA thing going on there.

No. My point being that you were fully prepared to anoint him as Nedved's superior successor after a few matches. My point is the same now as it was then: you have to give these things time.
I've seen Diego play a bunch of times, more than 20 before this season. And yes, he had the talent to become a better player than Nedved, and still does.

Not the best form of blackmail, Greg.

I know, and I completely agree with your main point. Hitting form at the right time, luck in the draw....those things play a huge role in CL.

But I simply don't see Milan doing it this year.

in 2008 milan were a different team, they now have a a new manager and a different style of play. I actually see Milan reaching the semis still going by my prediction

    chelsea
    real
    barce
    milan

    Yes, but different from what?
Different from the style that got them 2 CLs, 1 lost CL final and 1 lost semi-final?

It's not a bias, trust me. I, of course, would hate it Milan to do good in CL, but that's not the reason why I say that they stand no chance to do good in CL this year. They're simply no good for this level anymore.

I seriously doubt they'd go that far. Actually i'd be extremely surprised if they went that far. I am not fully convinced by them, and i still think that even in the league, the best they could do is get 3rd place.

True. They haven't been convincing at all even in the league. Apart from the last couple of weeks, they struggled to beat even the simplest of teams. I don't think the results they are obtaining are sustainable.

Bordeaux are going to reach the semis
No they're not. Teams will find them out sooner or later. Ligue teams already have and they are having a hard time winning their games week in week out. By the time the second round and the quarters come, big teams won't make the same mistake Juve and Bayern made, they'll do their homework on Bordeaux.

Even if they get Barca in the quarters? :D

I really can't predict what could happen after the next round, simply because everyone can play against everyone and with a potential Fiorentina-Sevilla quarterfinal one of them will even make it to the semis, while with a potential Chelsea-Barca quarterfinal one of them won't play in the semis.

I think Inter might go far this time. But it depends on Sneidjer.

Chelsea, and possibly Real are the hardest draws for them.

Manu is solid, but i feel this time around Inter could go through, motivation for revenge, and Inter has a classy attack now what could make the difference. Its not gona be easy, but like i said, revenge factor, Mou doesnt want to loose two season in a row.

By February the title might be wrapped up anyway(Ciro :weee:)so they can concentrate on CL games.
