We really need a right back .. Zebina will not do as a starting player .. who do you suggest ?

We signed Grygera but I would like Willy Sagnol for that position. We were close to signing him last season and now he could leave Bayern Munchen because Bayern will get rid of many players this summer and they are planning to rebuild the club.

Another possibility is William Gallas, he can play any position in defense.

I'm not entirely convinced over Malouda. We don't play a similar style to Lyon where he would have free reign up on the left-wing without having much defensive duty at all. But I suppose if we can secure him for a good price I'd give him a shot.

Actually Malouda is being commended in France for his allround game, including his defensive work with surprisingly good tackling as well.

Well if that's the case then he should fit nicely on the left flank for us. It's just that when I've seen him play I wasn't fully convinced of his ability, that is, compared to the levels the media was hyping him up to be. Malouda would certainly be a nice weapon to have though.

How can you compare Krapo to Malouda..?

Malouda has been on great form for a few years now for France and Lyon, whether you rate him as Juve material or not. Whereas I'm not even sure what credentials Kapo ever had other than being available on a free transfer..

Also we have to appreciate we are tarnished, by the scandal, financially and competitively with no CL. If we have the chance for top players that will add skills and depth to the squad in reality we can't sniff at them because they aren't in the World Best XI right now.. Additionally problem with signing predominantly Italian players is Serie A teams are holding us for ransom for our youngsters and I think most of us agree that we don't want to see that happen..

Malouda has speed and verve in his attacking play and can cover defensively as a team-unit as well.. Right now he's better than what we've got and if we can buy without having to sell the farm we should. IMO at least!

Gotcha. I hope not dude. I really don't see that as likely though..

Kapo was never going to replace Nedved in the lineup even if he was twice the player but times are different. I reckon Nedved and Malouda could play well together in any event..

kapo never really got his chance to prove himself with juventus, i think he may prove to be a solid back up option for next year hes done pretty well with levante, athough im with you about him never being capable of filling nedveds boots

Was it not that Deschamp wanted Kapo because he was promised the juve job but we gave the job to Capello instead?.

malouda is a good player. not in the same class as Nedved by any means but he is a smart player with talent. He is also experienced enough at 26 and has proven himself at international level. I also think he will not be over priced and will integrate well into the team

I am down with signing him asap.

I think Guily is better but he is 31 and I am not sure we can get Ribery who seems like he may got to Arsenal and would be very expensive


IF we manage to sign Malouda then with him and Nedved fighting for the spot on the left we can do great next season.

Or maby we could play a midfield like this:

That way nedved will have to do less running cuz he will be in the center and we will have a very offensive midfield. I think with Sissoko's tenacity and defensive ability we will have enough cover. Malouda and Camo also do their share of work too.

he has a great technique, precise shots with lots of power (almost every goal he scored was a low missile), he got the pshysics to play in serie A, good with the head, nice set piece taker.
add that to the pace and versitality (LMF, RMF, AMF and Winger).

plus, he's only 26 near to the peak of his career, and he has the motivation to play in other team than lyon.
and juve got some french players to play with him so what better option does he before us? even the coach is french and many successful french players have been in juve.

the only thing i'm concerned is the $$$ factor.
i hope chelski will let us have him.

I don't know why people think such a formation with two wingers would work. Malouda is a winger through and through, Camoranesi likes to travel up the right flank, and Nedved usually hovers on the edge of the box and towards the wings when playing behind the strikers. That leaves only Sissoko behind these players which, if we give the ball away cheaply, would be a disaster.

When using the diamond in the midfield you really need to have one of those side players be able to cover more centrally and balance the system out. For instance when Lippi used this formation, we had Davids on the left, Camo on the right and Tacchinardi and Nedved through the middle. Davids acted as the second defensive midfielder and helped cover along with Alessio, which is needed if you want to be secure defensively. I think having two wingers and an attacking midfielder in there would leave us too stretched.

that's why I was hoping for a formation like this but we'll stick to the 4-4-2 I think or 4-3-3 when we need to go forward.
