Furious Nedved issues threat
Wednesday 6 December, 2006

Juventus ace Pavel Nedved is fuming over his five-match ban. “If this is the policy, I will retire,” he stated.

The Czech midfielder received the massive ban for his dismissal against Genoa in Friday night’s 1-1 draw, when he was adjudged to have intentionally stepped on the foot of the referee after his red card.

“Zinedine Zidane was suspended for three matches for a head-butt, what did I do to get five?,” said the player to his agent Mino Raiola.

“If this is the way they intend to manage things, I might as well retire from football,” added the player, who was asked by Juve to avoid releasing any statements on the issue as the Bianconeri are appealing.

“Pavel told me that he cannot agree with the decision and that [referee] Farina is a liar, he never offended him and he did not stamp on him voluntarily,” explained Raiola to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Many clubs have complained about this referee, including Chelsea, Barcelona, Inter and Milan.

“Pavel is convinced that the team is paying for what happened during the summer, but that was not the players’ fault,” added the representative.

“If this is how things will continue, they should have killed the club or given them a 40-point deduction.

“Pavel also wants Juve to know that he does not agree with their attitude. The club must react and demand respect.
“If this does not change he is ready to consider quitting. Punishments must be proportional to blame, in this case there is no proportion.

“I am thinking of appealing to the European Court of Human Rights. A five-match ban means that Nedved will not be able to play for a month and a half and you cannot deny a citizen the right to work for such a long time.

“They might as well rescind his contract…” ended Raiola.

pavel has every right to be upset and the club should stand by him and fight, we can't allow these things to happen.
its nice to see that Neddy has more BALLS than this new administration that is running the team

many may disagree with me, but I feel that Pavel cares more about our team than the fucking weasels running it

:agree:

That is why Juventus offered Del Piero and Nedved new contracts after they finish their playing careers.

Del Piero and Nedved could be the next big things in our future Board, I´m very much optimistic about future:eyebrows:

This has to be the argument of the year. Brilliant defense.

Pavel proved that he loves Juve when he decided to stay, and I don't like too much this board and expecting Moggi be back.

Juve backing Nedved Thursday 7 December, 2006

Juventus have given their backing to Pavel Nedved after he was handed a five-match ban by the disciplinary commission.

The Czech player was found guilty of offending referee Stefano Farina and voluntarily stepping on his foot after being sent off for stamping on Genoa’s Francesco Bega last Friday.

Juventus decided to lodge an appeal, but Nedved threatened to quit football as he felt the club was not reacting appropriately against what he believed was an unfair decision.

“Pavel must remain calm, because we will not abandon him,” President Giovanni Cobolli Gigli told Tuttosport.

“He is a key player for us, he is the second one who decided to stay with us after the summer demotion and is the real driving force of the team.

“Of course we cannot deny the foul on Bega, the red card was inevitable, but a five-match ban is excessive.

“We know that Nedved is fiery on the pitch, but I cannot believe that he voluntarily stepped on the referee,” concluded the Bianconeri chief.

Director general Jean-Claude Blanc met the Juve squad on Wednesday, reassuring them that the club will always defend them.

“The players need to focus on playing and winning, and should avoid complaining to referees, because we are under the spotlight,” said Blanc.

“Some behaviour is counterproductive, so we need to remain calm and not worry. We will always defend and protect our players in every possible way.”

Captain Alex Del Piero, who has fully recovered from his injury and should be available for Saturday’s match with Verona, has also told Nedved to remain calm in this difficult moment.

“Nedved doesn’t need me to tell him what to do, so I can only say that sometimes anger does not give good advice,” declared the world champion.
Thanks Vlatko for the post.
This post shows the board's complacency. It has taken them 6 days to say this! Even so, they are condemning Pavel in the press, before his appeal is heard instead of supporting him. They should publicly taken Pavel's side even if they had advised (not told) him to remain calm privately, but they have not. And what of the other Juve staff, who received bans because of farina's lies? They should have launched appeals for them also, but they have made NO mention of appealling on their behalf!
The disciplinary commission knew perfectly well that the 5 match ban was unreasonable & excessive. In view of the biased officiating of farina, they probably knew that it should have been a 1 or 2 match ban & if they had opted for 3, that Nedved was justified in appealling.
So, what do the board do??? It is obvious that prior to Pavel threatening to quit, they had no intention of doing anything for any of the Juve staff & only decided to do so because Pavel threatened to quit. Even then, instead of looking at his case & advising him of the best way to approach the appeal, they publicly condemn him in the press!
Because of their behaviour, Pavel will be very lucky if he gets a 3 match ban, & farina will get off scot free, because the board refuse to do anything about him!

Andrea Agnelli should start looking for replacements for this lazy, good for nothing bunch & tell them in no uncertain terms that they are to start working for Juve, not against them or they are out on their ear!
Poor Pavel! Instead of being properly advised on how to act & how to best present his case, the board have sabotaged his chances of a fair hearing. I also feel sorry for the others too, who are not even supported by the board. Where are their appeals???? I honestly think that there are people in this forum who would do a better job than this bag of lazybones!

The sad thing is that this would be exactly Andrea's dream. It was his dad that hired the triade in '94 and he remained on their side till the end and, as far as I know, he's still in contact with them.
Unfortunately, in a fight for power inside the family, the Elkanns got Juve (and decided the new management and the strategy for this summer) and Andrea (and his mom Allegra), who once were regulars at the stadium, have 'disappeard' from the Juventus world.

Rumors (coming from Marcello Chirico, a juventino journalist who writes for "Il Giornale") say that the 'Umberto' side of the family considers this a lost battle, but they think that the war is not over yet.

We'll see what will happen..

Actually it's about the most used argument by football players. Though they hardly ever go through with it.

They all care about the team. They're just doing what they think is right.

to imagine that a Chinese youngster wears sth. with JUVENTUS logo, concerns news about the CLUB on the internet everyday. HOW can the board do nothing to improve the team, give no help to his players?
God, I don't know I am supporting what?
