Nedved will never learn :disagree:

He keeps on making harsh fouls, without any reason..
After a whole match where he was beaten without Farina doing anything, at the uptenth time our Neddy lost it and got his little revenge.

The fact that Farina likes the spotlight on him, that Neddy had received the 4th yellow and he was wearing the armband and, most importantly, the fact that our management isn't worth anything in the Figc palace did the rest.

Btw, I would really be surprised if Cobolli appealed.

No it's possible. You get the appropriate card for the respective foul, regardless wether you or on a yellow or not.
Yeah, that's right.

5 games sounds harsh. Has he clocked up enough yellows for that to count towards the ban, or is this just for the red?

Anyone have a clip of the foul that earned him the red?

MILAN, Italy: Juventus midfielder Pavel Nedved was suspended for five matches by the Italian league on Tuesday and Napoli received a one-game home stadium ban for fan violence.

Nedved was ruled to have deliberately stepped on an opponent in the closing minutes of Friday's 1-1 draw with Genoa on Friday. He received a direct red card and then insulted an official in protest, stepping on him as well, the league said.

Napoli fans threw flares onto the field during a 1-1 draw with Frosinone on Saturday and the game was twice suspended.

Napoli will have to play its next home game against Mantova on Dec. 16 in an empty stadium. The club was also fined €5,000 (US$6,500).
Okay, standing on a referee could explain this.

Mark, a one game stadium ban is a severe penalty - it's equivalent to a fine of something of the order of a million euro (30,000 * €35 - both possibly wild estimates).

They(Napoli fans, media...) we're expecting more, even the 0-3 loss and got away with a stadium ban. It's not the 1st time this happens in Napoli.

He should get 3 games at most, I´ve seen more brutal starts which ended in 3 game ban, that is the usual proccess.

EDIT: Oh, I see, he stepped on the official too, that explains a bit, but I believe Isha - if Genoa players beat him all the time, now wonder he lost his temper...

We're probably going to be granted an appeal... which is probably the reason why they made it 5 matches

Nedved's action remind me last season when inter vs. livorno, an inter player did the same thing to a poor livorno player and broken his leg. guess what happen next? nothing, the ref. didnt even show a card, and there was no extra punishment afterward the figc examed the match video which showed 100% it was an intentional foul

About that, there are no images and we all know that if Pavel had done it on purpose he would have got months of banning, not 'just' 5 matches. So I'm thinking that the most that happened could be that while protesting for the red, he might have touched accidentaly the ref's foot with his.

i dont see the point why dont they make the punishment what it is going to be the first time?
So that even if Cobolli was to appeal (I doubt it, but well..) the punshiment would still remain harsh.
