No respite for the Primavera. After being crowned league champions in the first half of the season, Baroni’s side now have a Coppa Italia meeting. For the second campaign in a row, the Bianconeri youngsters will contest a two-legged semi-final.
The first game will take place tomorrow (Wednesday 23 January) at Torino’s home ground of Venaria, and will be broadcast live on Sport Italia from 2.30pm. The second leg will be played a week later (Wednesday 30) at Chisola.
The last time the two teams locked horns, back on 27 October, saw Baroni’s side emerge victorious thanks to Beltrame’s decisive strike. The victory provided the stimulus for the start of a positive run of form, with the Primavera storming to the top of the table courtesy of a nine-game winning streak. They now hold a four point advantage over Fiorentina and sit seven clear of Torino and Genoa.
