Agent had the chance to cash in, in the Saudis or receive a transfer bonus on shipping his client somewhere. The agent knows the client will not play anything the forthcoming year and will have to deal with that frustration and try to calm the client. Once the year has passed, most opportunities are gone. The client may receive some offers but there will be a huge wage drop and hardly any transfer bonus for the agent.
I can't find any positives for either party from this situation, so the agent must be clueless.
First of all, the Saudi option is still on the table --- and probably will be moving forward.
He was willing to go to Fiorentina, but the deal fell through. You don't look at the personal and intangible side of things. Why would he take a big pay cut so he could go to a club and country for the next 3-4 years that he doesnt want to go to? You're saying his offers wont be there in a few months. What were his options now? Southampton? Boy, how will he ever get over passing up that opportunity?
The reality is, the next club he goes to will probably be his last, and it will be a middle to bottom half of the table club at significantly less money. Why rush into that when you can collect a fat paycheck and put out feelers for the winter window.
If I were him, I'd be more than willing to collect my big fat paycheck and be patient. Assuming he wants to stay in Italy or return to Germany, something will open up. Probably a 6 month loan with Juve paying most of the wages.
This isn't just a Kostic & his agent fault. Juventus deserve blame for not finding him a club and solution as well. I'm sure at worst, there were loan opportunities available that could have saved Juve some money, which would be better than not saying anything.
