The Azzurri are about to enter a "golden Generation"
the only difference between a real "golden generation" and a fake is a major trophy
Pellegrini,Kean.Zaniollo will add even more talent going forward.
Best football squad on the planet. Club teams included.

My only worry is the lack of quality talent in defense once Chiellini and Bonucci hang up their boots

I do not agree with Azzurri's gold generation, but I agree with the lack of talent defensively. The quality of the defenders is good, but is nowhere near Chiello, Bonucci, Barzagli level of players.

Bastoni is already really good and will become world class, no doubt. Beside him we should hope of an explosion from Lovato and Viti. I think Gabbia and Carboni aren't good enough to be a NT starter for Italy.

Too bad, Two strikers injured, Gjasula and Djimsiti both missed the game. Edy Reja should have had a more offensive formation. Broja is a gem, and Kumbulla owned Lewandowski, 90 minutes he didn't make any mistakes and won all duels with Polak strikers.
yeag lewa got shut out. That cross that led to the goal was too good. Was it hysaj who lost his man?

Defenders will step up imo. Not really worried about that. We'll have Bonucci and Acerbi for a while, Bastoni is one of the best young CBs in the world already.

Romagnoli or Mancini can fill in if no one steps up as a top talent. Maybe Lovato will be the player.

The big worry is as always the striker. After Immobile there are only uncertainties. Scamacca, Raspadori, Kean, Lucca, Esposito, etc. are all talented but until they make the jump it's only promises.
