Unbelievable. I have never in my entire life seen a losing team dominate a game that much. liverpool played absolutely superbly throughout - effort, skill, tactics it was all spot on bar the finish. A corner count of 17 to 0 tells its own story. Sao Paolo didn't muster a single shot in the second half, where it was wave after wave of liverpool pressure. Sao paolo's goalie was immense, 3 goals were disallowed and Liverpool's forward line missed a host of chances they'd normally gobble up.

What a farce :sigh:

São Paulo played a bad match, but win. Do you remember how Liverpool won the CL? With a horrible soccer! (except in the final, of course) Liverpool won their matches with a very defensive game, eliminating Chelsea and Juve.

I supported Liverpool, of course (there is a big rivalty between the three big São Paulo city teams: SE Palmeiras, SC Corinthians and São Paulo FC) .
But São Paulo prepared this game since won the Libertadores Cup. They abdicated the Brazilian Championship to play the World Championship.

Does the european teams want win the World Championship? Because the South American teams dreams with that. And here, the media speak that the europeans don't value the World Championship. Is that true???
* When I see Gerrard cry, I think it's untruth...

yes thats a good point about the cl final - there are many comparatives to be drawn. The main one being that the utterly dominant side here lost, and in the CL final the utterly dominant side (for 110 out of 120 minutes) lost as well.

Still doesn't change the fact that the result made a bit of a mockery of the competition

thats kinda what I thought as I watched the match...they were getting a taste of their own medicine !!

I was neutral, I just wanted to see a good match TBH (ok...for European purposes, I would have rather saw 'Pool win )

I thought 'Pool was hard-done by at least one of the offsides calls on the non-goals (the final one), and the others were too damn close to call...other line judges would have kept their flags down IMO..

does anyone else here actually believe that 'Pool is the best team in Europe ???

Im happy that my team, Saprissa won the 3rd place, and Im more happy that one of our players Bolaños won the 3rd best player award, behind Gerard and Ceni. I have alot of hopes for this kid, he is very skilled and very young
