Fifa 13 – First Screenshots and Details :weee:

Soccer fans, get ready as we have some brand new information about the new version of your beloved Fifa series. David Rutter, the main producer of Fifa 13, told to everyone that was present at a recent London showcase that FIFA 13 will have 5 major improvements. These 5 improvements are First Touch Control, Player Impact, Complete Dribble, Tactical Free-Kicks and Attacking AI.

One of the first things to do at FIFA 13 was to implement a more realistic ball control. Now it will be more difficult to control a receiving ball with your player. It all depends on the strength, the speed, the ball height and the technical skills of your player to achieve the control of the ball and run with it.

Another feature that got improved is the player impact engine. According to David Rutter, there will be no more unrealistic animations in the players challenges and we can hopefully kiss goodbye to all those awful physics bugs that flooded YouTube. The engine has been optimized and new a set of impact values have been added at the hip and the upper body area.

In FIFA 12 you could dribble just by changing direction. In FIFA 13 this won’t be possible anymore. Moreover, the free-kicks got a new system. Up to three players can now gather around the ball. Players can feint a direct shot and adjust it to a player who comes off the wall. Also, the defense set pieces have been improved.

Last but not least, the offensive Artificial Intelligence got a huge improvement. The CPU-controlled players got better running routes and better guessing options of where you pass the ball. Also the strikers are smarter and move with the offside line of your defenders, waiting to receive the ball and run with it towards your goal post.

I'm a PES player, been playing alot of FIFA 12 last month (FIFA tourno's), improvements it needs to feel like a more footballing simulation like the former, better and more realistic dribbling (needs to be more natural, not as slow, while also needs to be more dynamic in how you receive/touch the ball). Also the AI they mention above, main thing PES has advantage of, off the ball movement with the AI both defensively and offensively is way more realistic (dont wait around for the ball holder but needs to exploit space and move into channels etc).

Both games have their Pros and Cons but you have to admit PES/WE is not the same anymore, PES 5 is the best football game I have ever played.
Fifa 12 out sold PES 12 at a ratio of 25:1. They are changing the game engine for PES 13, lets hope its good.

Funny you would mention it. I went to my parents cabin in the woods a few days and have been staying there for a while trying to do some work. But before I go to bed I've been dragging up my old PS2 and played PES 5. I used to think it was the best ever but now it feels like the shittiest shit I've ever played. :D It's amazing how fast the football games have evolutioned. It's impossible to make a fair comparison between current and old ones. I used to be a PES lover who now have moved on to FIFA. PES generations have stopped in time but kept its arcade feeling. Nothing is wrong with that it depends on what you're searching for. I will however, as always, download both demos and try 'em out for a while before I make up my mind regarding which to purchase. Lately though the choice has been rather easy to make. Noticeable is that FIFA was crap for a long period of time and finally started competing with PES. Once it had caught up it felt like PES downgraded or stopped in its earlier progress. Although improvements have continued in the FIFA seriers lately it feels like the pace of progress has slowed down drastically since it took over from PES. Hopefully PES will improve and we'll have to equally as good series pushing each other forward. There's a lot of money to earn so I don't see why PES shouldn't.
