I agree with Marko! Very good signing for liverpool!
But I don't undrestand Atletico Madrid strategy!! They sell Toress (their most valuable player) and plus some cash they get Garcia and Forlan Instead!
They are selling the player that represent their club! Someone like Raul, Totti, Alex, Gerrard and .... I don't think it is smart move!

He can't win trophies and more money with Atletico, so he left. Atletico is just another mediocre football club.

forlan has shown he can score around 20 goals in spain 19 this season over 20 last torres struggles to get 14 so athletico did very well and not to forget they got el kun, mista, kezman. torres was what was stopping them progress.

torres is the most overrated, overhyped player in modern football, now he can add the overpriced description to his collection. He'll score 12 goals for liverpool next season and crouch will out play him, i dont rate the guy at all, he has had 'potential' for the last 5 years but has never managed to back that up with goals, a player of his reputation should score 20+ goals a season, poor signing for the money

thank u! good to know im not the only 1 here who thinks hes overrated, i mean if crouch's goals and assists to minutes ratio is far superior to torres, then that is just saying sumthing in itself

Yeah, but Raul, Alex, Gerrard and even Totti are playing in big clubs and they have not a motivation to move on and further develop their career unlike Torres who played at the club who even can't qualify fot UEFA Cup... And atletico did an excellent job, they've sold them for the biggest ammount they could get and already bought good replacement, however I'm sure that Atletico despite good shopping they did they gonna finsh misdtable again...

i actually think now torres if of their shoulders they wont rely so heavily on him, which was what they were doing, and hence their dissapointing place in the league, they got themselve a proven goalscorer in la liga, and already looking towards riqueleme and quaresma - they will be fighting top 4 easily possibly leap sevilla

well... goalscorin' rate is not really what Benitez is lookin' for i'm sure... else Kuyt wouldn't have started in the CL final... he hasn't scored a single CL goal for Liverpool until that final...
He didnt really have a choice..Kuyt was his best option..

I agree with Badass and Mikey here..Torres is one of the most overrated players around..His finishing is appaling and i dont think he'd be better than Kuyt.Who IMO isnt really bad..all he needs is a goalscorer beside him...and i'm afraid Torres isnt that.

its amazing how arsenal can sign a player a fraction of torres' price who i can say will guarantee at least 20 goals at his best once da silva gets going, which im sure will be very fast, i truely rate arsenal's new signing defo the best signing of the prem, its just a shame the arsenal fans who have spoken to me about da silva have no bloody idea who he is or what he is capable of

Ya me included...But we dont get the Croatian league here so i dont know how i could have seen him...

I really hope he is better than Torres(who i dont rate)..I mean the least we can say about Torres is that he's played at the top stage..whilst Eduardo hasnt..so at least Liverpool know what to expect of Torres(which isnt much:D )

You can't compare the game that Arsenal play with the one Liverpool play . Imagine Torres in Arsenal , he would guarantee 20+ goals a season.

torres cudnt get 20+ anywhere even if he tried, lets face it athletico is not a bad club, some v v good players and torres potential is nothing like as great as some like to believe, torres will struggle for 10 next season

if eduardo can get 38 goals in croatia in 1 season and 2nd top goalscorer in the euro 2008 quals then im sure u can safely say he can get u around 20 goals a season, his technique, pace and skill is fantastic.

Marko, Badass and goggo!

If we just consider economic aspects I'm agree with you but a club like Atletico Madrid is more than company and it has other aspects. They are people living with these club and I believe in long term if you ignore these factors you'll be loser!

It is the same that we sell Alex and get Anelka and Garcia and some cash!

A club with 100 years of history shouldn't sell everything just for more money. In some cases it is better you loose some money instead of selling your identity. They are thing that cannot be replaced with money.

we sold zidane, and look what we got in return sometimes u gotta sell to progress, athletico win, torres will be of no great loss to them as it was him that was hindering their progression in challenging for cl football the whole time

34 i believe...
But going with what Vlatko said..the croatian league isnt all that strong to begin with..I mean Kezman scored a crazy amount of goals in Holland,(which is probably a stronger league than the croatian) but still he flopped in England and Spain..Alfonso Alves scored 34 in Holland this season..would you be willing to have him at Juve??

Now i'm not judging the player as i obviously havent watched him play...But what i'm saying is that his goalscoring record in Croatia isn't necessarily gonna count for anything in England.
