Xenophobic, not racist.
I don't see why cultural homogeneity and xenophobic are considered to be one of the same. Just because a culture wishes to promote, enhance, and to some degree, protect it standing; doesn't by defeat make that society scared and fearful of others. It is an overly simplistic and barbarous innovation of leftist thinking.

I wonder if he'll have problems fitting into the squad given that he's spent his whole career playing amongst compatriots, and only even played without teammates from different regions during those small periods with the national team.

Would he get along with his teammates of various nationalities and ethnicities at Juve? Would he avoid passing to Asamoah and Pogba? Would he resent Pol Garcia?

Hopefully Bilbao's racist policies haven't been embedded into him.
@Jasi?
You should ignore what are Athletic Clubs policies to say that, Athletic Club don´t mind about races to sign or not a player, the only requirement to play in Athletic Club is to be Basque or grown in one of the football academys in the Basque Country, nothing else.

For example

There are more examples in our academy but i believe those are enough.

Changing the topic, i believe Fernando is going to fit great with Tevez, in fact i think Fernando is going to supply many goals for him.
