I understood people defending him and any other player for that matter with the whole 'X player doesn't work well in 'Y' System' but at this point it's not even a defence for Llorente

He straight up sucks in a 3-5-2, he's too slow to counter (Don't .gif me the fucking pub team defending by Malmo, even a 50 year old beer bellied man could grab the odd goal playing for Juve every Week especially against that defending) and he is basically a glorified target man. So basically for him to perform at his best the entire team has to be moulded around him. But he's not exactly a player worth doing that for he's not fucking Zidane he's Llorente.

Offers nothing in our build up play, is too sluggish to help counter and that would be OK if he was a predator in the box, a goal scoring machine. But he's not, and his attacking positioning sucks. But as always 5 games down the line he'll do the job against some shit team from Serie A and all will be forgiven because some people have such low standards after years of Amauri, Matri etc etc

His first season he scored plenty and not all were from crosses. He doesn't do anything go get himself in position to receive a pass in a scoring position.

Is this supposed to be a defence of Llorente? No crosses huh? So we basically have a glorified tree that needs us to spam crosses for him to do anything?

There's a reason so called target men have mostly fucked away. They are useless.

My post wasn't intended as a criticism of Nando, love him to death and he should start. Vucinic just had the role of being our sole offensive creator in addition to being judged on his productiviy, completely different than Llorente.
