In his first year he failed because all his buys were exactly what del neri wanted, second season it was difficult for him to close any deals because we did not have CL. This time since Italy is not attractive anymore he cannot be blamed.

Not step down now, that would be drastic. I did wanted him fired at the end of last year's mercato though. But i do agree that he needs to cut the bullshit announcing the level of players we will soon sign and ffs stop failing all the fucking time.

Sure all these are awesome signings, but what did we fail for the past 3 transfer sessions and last season matches? ONE fucking quality striker.

All of those undeniably played their part. Look in every league and you'll see loads of factors influencing league title wins.

As for excuses, I don't think Marotta has any to not sign a striker this summer. To ask for his resignation now is completely absurd though.

How come he couldn't do it in his first season here, if you want to credit the undefeated team to Marrotta? Conte was the difference maker, but thats another discussion altogether. Of course it means nothing as far as he's concerned this year. Our objectives for the season require high quality purchases in our biggest need gaps. And when you're seemingly going out looking for the cheapest, bargain and losing out every objective as a result, then you have got a problem with your strategy.

Not that I think it'll happen, but if he fails to deliver at least a Llorente/Dzeko level player, I would say the mercato would be undone despite the good work earlier in the summer.

Honestly, what would you believe Marrotta's biggest challenge at the start of the mercato was? I believe it was to deliver a CF. A quality CF. No matter what else, that was our BIGGEST need. Do you agree? A failure to deliver on that need, would suggest that he was not up to his primary task no matter what else he did. We are in as good a situation as we could find ourselves in the last 6 years, and if he couldn't deliver a decent CF in such a situation, then he doesn't belong at a big club.

That was a very solid platform to launch for your final mercato targets. But if the market were to end like this, then I don't see how this can be called an amazing mercato.

How can you say that when we were linked with so many strikers, and many of them playing the SS role? I think Marotta's only challenge for this mercato was to raise the quality in our attack.

Not at all asking for his resignation. I think he's done a good job thus far this mercato, but it could all be undone easily if he doesn't deliver what matters most. In which case, I would deem him to be a nearly man.

what do you know about our budget and his talks with conte? It seems that your clan gives credit to Conte whenevr something good happens and shovel shit on Marotta whenever things don't go right.

Juventus confident of sealing €20m Llorente deal


The Serie A champions have made the Spain international their primary target in the transfer market after they failed to sign Edinson Cavani and Fernando Torres, and Juve are hopeful their attempts to sign Llorente will be successful.

Athletic have set a €30m asking price for the towering attacker, whereas the Old Lady are only willing to spend €18m plus €2m in bonuses.

Juventus remain confident about a deal going through, though, after a telephone call between general director Giuseppe Marotta and the Basque side's president Josu Urrutia helped negotiations.

The Spanish side do not want to sell Llorente to another Liga rival, thus increasing Juventus' chances of luring him to Turin, while they also want to prevent the striker from leaving the club on a free transfer when his contract expires next year.

Therefore, Juve believe the Primera Division outfit will eventually lower their demands, and accept the Italian giants' offer.

Llorente's agent Carlos Arino Bajo stated last week that a move to Juventus was a realistic option for his client.
