It appears that most may be unfamiliar with Llorente and are just using numbers or youtube clips to guage whether they are for or against the player. The guy is a great striker. I too, am usually weary when a player from a different league comes to Serie A and prefer a top player (that is a CF) that's in-house. We don't have that luxury this mercato.
Each league has its own traits and we'll never agree on which is better or worse than the other, or easier to score, etc. Llorente has excellent/top-quality talent, and posses the qualities we need in the CF position - and with the right amount of service coming from players like Pirlo, Vuc, Seba, etc., there's no telling of what levels he can reach playing with our champions already in our squad. I've followed him for years and I'd say a player of his quality and caliber - for only 20m euros - would be a rock solid mercato move. I think for those who are very familiar with Llorente, this player for 20m is possible the mercato deal of the summer - or at the least, another Vidal-level move.
For those who like comparisions, he's in the vain of Dzeko and Ibra.

There are 2 teams in La Liga, which are on a whole different level compared to the others, and 2 of their players scored 100+ goals combined. Sorry but that's a shitty argument. I bet if you give us the numbers without the top2 strikers in each of these leagues, then Spain will be last.
Llorente is an okay player. Not quite what we were promised but I can see him scoring 20 goals in the weak Calcio. That goes for Dzeko, too. IMO they are not that different, and I'm sure most of the people would agree with this, but what is up with your obsession with the bosnian ?

La Liga may have weak defences, but Messi and Ronaldo tear that shit up for fun. If they weren't in the league the top scorers would look a bit more realistic, 18-28+ goals. Then again if you stick someone like Falcao up front for Barca, he would score 30+ without a doubt.

I don't know why, but I just don't see Llorente click for us. Btw, would this also mean, Dzeko could still end up at Meelan if we take Llorrente? I understand an argument where we say let's not spend for the sake of spending, while citing Vidal as a quality purchase. But to go from the likes of Higuain, Cavani and RVP down to Dzeko and then on to somebody who wasn't even on the shopping list, is a prety sorry turn of events. Yes, I'm speaking at face value here, but in a season where we won big, are offering CL football, and have a kick ass new stadium and one of the most financially sound clubs, and we can't even get our third or fourth choice players, its a worrying sign. Very worrying. If this move clicks, we'll be set in a good way but if it doesn't, theres hardly anytyning we'll recover from somebody like Llorente who doesn't have a 'continental reputation' so to speak. Just my view on the matter. For this consideration, and the fact that I see Dzeko adapt better to our system and movement, and of course, league, I'd have to pick the latter. Monetarily, I don't think Dzeko would cost us drastically more than Llorente would. So I wouldn't make that part of my consideration set when making a choice as we'd only figure this out closer to the end of the mercato when City begin to make their moves.
