Have you guys even seen Gago play before? It doesn't sound like you have. He's a ball playing defensive midfielder, not a one-dimensional destroyer. One of our problems is that we don't have a player who can make solid passes deeper in midfield and link the defense and attack, something Gago does rather well. We supposedly got Melo for the regista role which was wrong, but Gago is the sort of player to take that link up role and complete neat passes around the pitch.

He wouldn't solve all our problems, but at least we wouldn't have to rely on Melo to create from deep. Gago is more suited for that role.

Melo is a wounded beast, yet still a beast! He currently lacks confidence, and is being deployed out of position.

How can someone who excelled with Fiorentina and then Brazil at the Confederations Cup become so meek and pitiful in under 12 months?!

I've seen him play(not closely though) and he is having a dip in form.. possibly because of all the new stars showing up and all pre-perez madrid players leaving. Its like playing in a new team that bought 2 team mates of his. Not to mention how over shadowed he must feel with the likes of kaka, ronaldo and alonso around him in midfield.
The stress he may suffer from the pressure of having to perform up to their level could destroy almost any star in the making. Its bad enough that his position is rarely focused on.

I cant make an educated judgment about him yet but i feel he would suffer under the pressure we put on our players... look at our new signings.. all couldnt cope with the pressure except for cannavaro but thats because he is experienced as fuck.

Bah, let's said goodbye to him. Nothing official yet, but acording to argie newspapers and some spanish ones, there's already a done deal with Boca and Gago. He only needs to convince Madrid to let him go.
