I was just going to post that, Ches.

And it isn't really something to laugh about, but after reading this thread you just can't help it :D
I can't wait for Seven to see this. :lol2:

But truth be told, some guys in this thread deserved it. :p

No doubt.

I'm not some silly patriot (far from it) or anything so I'm not here to defend Belgium or Belgians. But the way this news was presented, without knowing some rather important facts, was just laughable.

I think the facts weren't needed. It was obviously a ploy to use 'This would never happen in Belgium ' sentence. Nothing else.

That is the whole point actually. :D

Its kind of an inside joke, Seven once made a comment about something that happened in the US and said that that would never happen in Belgium iirc, ever since, anything that ever happens in Belgium gets its own thread, and rest assured that the first few posts would be mocking Belgium with the cliche "this would never happen in Belgium"

As if that doesn't happen in other countries

No, in the US stuff like this happen:

Much better, I agree.

And I love it how we can tease and laugh about these type of horrible things. I have a black soul, I can't help it.

So something that is 15-20 years ago still gives you an opinion on how the country is now.
How short-sighted.

Let's see if we can make the families of those two peolpe look at this thread, they'll definately have a laugh.

Ches my man, he is joking. This all originates from Sevens comment "this would never happen in Belgium".

Oh, but I get the joke. And in fact, it doesn't bother me at all. I'll be the first one to criticize & laugh at ourselves (unlike many others) for the dumb crap that keeps on happening.

It's just that the way this situation turned out (it not being a Belgian criminal), means that the joke doesn't make any sense.

Might be yes, but for what you guys know, the judge or the clerck were related to one of the Belgians here, really, I wonder what the reactions here would have been then after the first posts.

Sometimes things that happen aren't ok to make fun about, especially since the fact he wasn't even Belgian wasn't known.

But it still happened in Belgium :D

Actually its much funnier now because the original attempt at the joke backfired :p

And you contributed to the derailing of the said thread, making you just as guilty.

So spare us all, or you'll be known as this dude.
