I am still very worried about his tendency to get yellow & red cards though. To me he just looks like the kind of player that costs you some games during the season.
Imagine a Camo-Melo-Sissoko midfield, with Santacroce behind them (even Chiellini). It will be too brutal.
Brutal, but with Melo and Camo being very comfortable with the ball at their feet and with two little magicians in front of them (Diego and Del Piero, sometimes Giovinco) this might indeed be our formula for success.
Toughness mixed with technique was always my favorite combination.

Melo
Sissoko
Marchisio
Zanetti
Camoranesi

This isn't enough. What if 2 or 3 of them gets injured? The most important change during this "mercato" is to get new physicians and doctors. Last season half the team were injured from day 1.

I really think we should keep one of Tiago and Poulsen. It will probably be Tiago.

I hope Poulsen stays and Tiago goes.

Unless we decide to go for one more midfielder, then one of Tiago/Poulsen will definitely stay.

Seems you and I enjoy the same type of football because nothing beats a "tough" game (and I don't mean dirty or a lot of fouls) with the necessary technique.

What I'm worried about is finishing several games with less than 11 players on the field.
Melo looks like he is a card magnet.
Same goes for Sissoko & Camoranesi. To make things worse, even when they have received a card, they don't alter their game. They usually just continue playing "stupid" (or in Camo's case frustrated).

Marchisio & Zanetti are also on the receiving end of a lot of cards, but at least they usually change their approach after a yellow card.

Oh and I don't want to imagine a Santacroce-Chiellini backline for the moment. 2 rash, young & still somewhat inexperienced defenders in the centre is asking for trouble.

Juve: Melo not official... yet Wednesday 8 July, 2009

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Juventus President Giovanni Cobolli Gigli claims Felipe Melo’s signing “is not official yet,” but it is just a matter of red tape.

The two clubs reportedly reached an agreement late last night worth around £21m, including winger Marco Marchionni as part of the exchange.

“He is not our player yet,” explained the Bianconeri patron. “There have been and there are some negotiations, but the official completion of the operation is still missing.

“When it is all official, you will be told.”

It’s believed Juventus are waiting for the close of the financial markets this evening, as the club is floated on the stock market and does not wish to spike its share price.

Arsenal were thought to be the favourites for the Brazilian midfielder, but Juve staged a sensational swoop.

“The matter has not yet been concluded, but I hope it will be soon,” added Cobolli Gigli.

“Marchionni to Fiorentina? The details will emerge later on.”

Viola fans are furious to see one of their star players sold to their biggest rivals, as graffiti has appeared around the city declaring: ‘Melo to Juve = No season tickets.’

I read on an italian website that Ferrara wants to play a diamond midfield, with Melo being the bottom and Diego the top points of the diamond, hence, why i posted that particular formation
