I dont hate Italians, i hate tolerating mediocrity because of nationalism and have my fav team keep suffering because of it...

Its not like we are signing Rossi, De Rossi and Santon,
Boriello, Padoin and Pelluso, should never be considered as Juve options, they are too incompetent for that, but unfortunately, they are, ONLY because of their nationality.
It's truly laughable that you believe the garbage you write. It truly is.

^Maybe not great, but unlike Borriello, Padoin and Peluso, they are at least Juve material and if not even that, serie A material!
I can live with that, but signing serie B material players, only because they are Italian, is too much!

It's truly laughable that you believe the garbage you write. It truly is.
No one asked for your opinion about my opinion, but feel free to explain to us, what do you see on Borriello, Padoin and Peluso, other than the fact, that they are young and Italian.

IMO it despisable to put your nationalism over your team's benefit.
I cant understand and i would never share it, thats why it never corrupted my view on a player.

Esp for the LB, after having one of the best LBs in the world, (Zambro) a very good inheritor in Chiello and even a decent option (imo) in Balzaretti,
for over a decade, i grew accustomed at having and loving such an option there and even more, as i never challenged the Di Livios we had before.

BUT, ever since we suffered Molinaro, we are struggling to find a decent option for there, we should have kept Balza, untill DC come of age and introduce him properly, but we have sacrificed him, for Moli and Grosso
and ever since, we practically play without a proper LB, because we only look for Italians.

Unfortunately, there are no good available options of Italians playing in that spot, so we have opted to compromise and pick not the best possible we can get, but the best Italian option we can get, regardless of how low, in terms of performance, compromise will that be.

I ve been saying that since the day we got Molinaro and the playing time we gave him, despite the fact that he has been the worst Juve starter in the past 3 decades to say the least.
This is how far we went to keep it Italian there and then we signed Grosso, because he was a champion...
Until we had our Motta's on the right, it was a faulty strategy that Marotta himself admitted to be wrong.

The current coach hopefully will not be bullied into playing Peluso regardless of his performance, like the ones before him did with Molinaro.
Hopefully he will prefer even playing a CM out of position there (Asamoah), despite the fact that he is not Italian, but because he is the best available option.
But to see us insisting on this nationalistic path after all we have been through is disgusting...

However, there is still a difference of opinion with regards to the transfer fee. Juve are hoping to get him on loan and then outright for around €5m in total. Atalanta are looking for €7m.

:howler: Fuck off crooks. Just bring back Ziegler who is pretty much in same league with Peluso.

:agree: 7 Million is way too much for this guy. Even 5 Million is excessive. However, if he ends up wearing the Juventus shirt, I shall begrudgingly support him whenever he steps onto the field of play :sigh:

He will be the new Motta, after failing to do better than a CM (Asamoah) he will fail even to DC, so after a streak of horrible performances, he will be turned into the new Grosso/Motta,
no one will ever pay a penny for him, as wont pay now and we will be forced to loan him out and still pay a part of his salary on the top of it...

I read Peluso could play LCB too, I think him being multifunctional is the reason we're signing him. However, Atalanta play a four-man backline where he plays as a LB and we will play him as a LCB or LWB, I guess. Different positions than he currently plays?

Meh, I hope we dont sign him a five year deal, just loan him and ship back to Atalanta.

If you had watched him, you'd know that he defends much better Motta and Grosso.

He's mediocre offensively but he's going to be a backup anyways.

what do you see on Borriello, Padoin and Peluso, other than the fact, that they are young and Italian.
in what universe is Borriello (30 yo) , Padoin (28 yo) and Peluso (28 yo) actually young (in football's terms)?
uh well, i guess you are playing an old version of football manager. in football manager 2002 those players were indeed young...

so that leaves us with "we sign them just because they are italian"...

Padoin is more than an adequate back up for us.

Seems that Peluso is done deal. Atalanta will bring back their young loaned defender Alberto Almici.
He will be in the last year of contract next summer so that one of the reasons why is he considered by Marotta.
He meet Conte's requirements for a depth player. Cheap, work hard and will not complain when he don't play ala Lucio.

I don't like this transfer TBH. I know its a depth signing but after all this is Juventus, not Napoli or Viola. I would like if we bring back Sorensen, who is already a proven first team material.
Peluso is a very mediocre player, and have a weak defensive mentality on the pitch. He received TWO red cards this season + SIX Yellows. That mean he was suspended THREE times until now, before we come to the half of the season!!

Look at all these cards, he surpassed Vidal - who is the best ball winner in the Serie A- .Terrible move for a terrible defender.

Don't worry about the discipline.

With Juve having controll of the refs, Peluso will be able to get away with murder.

I don't like having players like Padoin and Peluso either, but I won't lose sleep over Conte's wish to have his boys with him in Juve.

I'm convinced that both players are Conte's demand. He was the one who gave the chance to Peluso in serie A and played him regularly. Same is for Padoin who was irreplaceable in Conte's Atalanta. I guess Conte knows that both aren't good enough to make Juve better, but he knows what kind of persons they are and he knows them as grateful and hard working players who probably suit his philosophy and who will do good for the group's unity and team atmosphere. After all, Juve's history is full with mediocre hard working Italians, who never minded the bench and were always there to step on the pitch when needed, despite their technical disadvantages.
