Beast for large parts, that crucial block towards the end was key for us but truth be told he still can’t seem to brush away silly mistakes that have the potential to cost us, has at least one brainfart per game in him, thankfully however he makes up for it with lots of grinta and determination, he is currently crucial to this squad even if im not yet sold at all on the idea of him wearing the armband but it at least looks to be making him more responsible.
you can microanalyze most defenders and find multiple mistakes every game. Theyre defenders, generally speaking the least athletic and technical players on the field. Chiellini would do dumb shit all the time and is still one of the goats. But you cant deny that Gatti was and has been a rock so far this season.

I don’t disagree with the main point you are making regarding CB’s but let’s not compare Chiellini with Gatti… as i’ve stated before Gatti has been doing very well thus far and deserves praise but let’s not exaggerate, Chiellini had moments of clumsiness with the ball at his feet however he hardly ever brainfarted defensively in his main tasks, whereas Gatti despite playing very well atm still has moments where he gets outsmarted in duels by the likes of Colombo from Empoli that we’ve been lucky to get away with and not get punished, which would have made for a completely different conversation here now.
