I don't like him - never have and never will. However, he's not really the problem.
The players are the least of the problems. It’s who scouts them, signs them and coaches them that is the real problem.

And it’s been a huge problem for us for well over half a decade now; with no real sign of changing any time soon.

he also lost a header with Anguissa in the first half, where he almost scored from corner - free header for Naples (around 40th minute - ).

Im not 100 % sure that first goal is totally on him, but who is he marking there if not Anguissa? when u look closely at him during this first goal action, he looks completely out of place there, not even knowing what is happening.
Then there is Lukaku chance that Di Gregorio somehow saved - there he completely looses Lukaku and leaves him with a free header - totally on him (around 49th minute).

Around 61th minute he is once again completely loosing marking in the penalty area, Lukaku is like 2m meters off him completely free - he is lucky that the cross was actually not directed to Lukaku - if it was, he would have easily scored. This led to a chance for Politano that Cambiaso blocked.

So i just looked at the extended highlights and u can see 3 amateurish errors made by him in his positioning.
For me, for the goal, its also on him, but McKennie could do better there too.

A bit weird to single him out after last night's game. Considering most of the team played (a lot) worse.
he wasn't good though, the first goal was a direct result of his poor positioning and judgement

yeah we had worse performances though. besides chico, all of our attackers played like amateurs. i said multiple times that i'd love to see yildiz playing in the middle but after yesterday i'm not so sure. he tried but nothing worked. vlahovic was a complete trainwreck, easily our worst player yesterday, and mbamgula was dumb and ineffective too

That's debatable. The entire midfield & defence was (unsurprisingly) completely out of shape at that moment. (Good play by Benfica though.)

he missed that cross badly. he misjudged the trajectory of the ball, went for the header, and missed the ball. he could have either timed the jump better, or simply go and block the defender. it was an amateurish mistake, nothing i'd like to see from a juventus central defender :boh:

and yes, i think that usually the gatti hate is unwarranted. he's not a very good player, but for rotation, he could be useful on the long run. yesterday though, he was pretty bad

We have to bench him,...
he was benched until we had no other choice but play him every game

with all these injuries it's not an easy task to rotate and get results. we don't have two players for most positions, let alone two quality ones. motta isn't doing a good job, and at the same time his job is becoming borderline impossible. i think that he'll get fired eventually, and it won't entirely be his fault
