The sad thing in all this is that dybala left for free and now chiesa for under 30m, to roma or whoever else. Arguably two players that should have got us more money over the years.

Nonetheless, as always i don't mind selling players if they are adequately replaced, be it directly or by playing a different system.

I think it’s just as much us wanting to rid ourselves of him as soon as possible to already start rebuilding as it is himself wanting to leave because of the failed contract negotiations.

They don’t play a formation that would suit him so i doubt they’d even be interested.

Whereas if he tries to run his contract down i think he will spend most of it either on the bench or in the stands, which i doubt it’s something that a fit and eager to prove himself Chiesa is willing to consider.

Would've liked to see him for 1 season under Motta but it's pretty clear he's never going to be world class

He relied too much on the attributes he lost after his injury. The gap between him and the younger Spain wingers for example is absolutely huge. Roma is about his level now.

Not if we try to force a sell and he refuses it along with also turning down a bridge year contract, i think the club will at the very least give him something to worry about.
